I'm surprised Trump hitched his wagon to this anti-science policy of RFK Jr.

I suppose it melds nicely with his brain, already stuffed w nutcase theories.

It's clearly Trump's stance, but I doubt he uses the word "efficacy". Someone else must have written part of the post.

Blanche argued in court that you can't prosecute Trump if he hadn't been impeached-&-convicted, using the WELL KNOWN LOGICAL FALLACY Denying the Antecedent.

It's the reverse. You can prosecute no matter what. No need for impeachment and conviction.

Fuck this guy.

Public health issues often require a high rate of compliance by the public in order to succeed.

*One reason for having a government* is that it has the power to mandate certain activities in order to maintain the public's health. To coerce people.

It's not libertarian by design.

Tbh if you plug in some more rational assumptions into the Drake Equation you wind up with an extremely sparse universe as far as intelligent life goes. As in 5-6 planets in the entire galaxy.

Earth is a good example. Life emerged pretty quickly here, but it took billions of years before the Cambrian Explosion when complexity arose. Why the long wait?
Need good luck.
I think it's an extremely low probability that prokaryotes merge to become eukaryotes, with much greater capabilities.

I looked out at 5:10 to the east, from Los Angeles (actually Culver City) and saw something very much like this, including the "X" of clouds/contrails.

Was this picture taken from somewhere in the Los Angeles basin?

In 2004, Gavin Newsom helped get Bush reelected; he then put Roberts & Alito on SCOTUS.

Newsome disregarded Dems, incl Barney Frank, pleas to NOT issue gay marriage certs early (!) in a prez election year. Went ahead anyway, triggering initiatives in 11 states (incl OH) that hurt Kerry's chances.
