I tried reading How Stella Got Her Groove Back because my mom and aunt had hardback copies and were talking and talking about it and my people never tried to stop me from reading anything. But my pubescent brain relate to the content at the time. So I'm excited to read her content as an adult.

The book seems more focused on the hijinks than the actual story or its characters.

That’s just my opinion, but I don’t think the hype meets the final product.
