To anyone dealing with someone making you the villain because you're holding boundaries against other people's horseshit: sometimes it's worth being the villain in someone else's narrative if it means that you're safe. You shouldn't have to continue poisoning yourself for someone else's happiness.

The idea that someone should sacrifice their peace & safety to make *you* feel better about yourself & that they're treating you like shit if they don't is absolute horseshit. Actions have consequences. Sometimes the consequences are someone not trusting you ever again. *You* caused that. Move on.

I don't know if this is just how modern shonen is, I haven't read anything more recent than ~2014 really, but if it is...ugh. It's not *bad*, I'm enjoying the art itself and it makes sense, it's just doing The Most nearly all of the time and I find that off-putting.

This is a first, where I like the anime better than the manga, but they do such a good job of fleshing things out and making it flow in a way that the panels just...don't. It's doing too much at one time, there's too much going on visually all at once, it's very crowded, & it's been a bit annoying.

Anyway. 15 years since the last time I ran, an activity I did, sometimes multiple times a day, since I was 8 until I got sick. Hooray (sike. I'm going to be trying not to fucking sob all fucking day. Again. This happened a few weeks ago too. It sucks more today though since it's date night).

We didn't have a lot of sports awards even though my brothers played team sports; my track stuff was in pride of place in the hallway because they were the *only* sports awards for anyone in the whole house. My plaque for "most dedicated athlete" was the one I was the most proud of.

It's a good thing the pictures of me running are lost media. And it's a good thing my medals and bibs for marathons and awards for track are also lost. That would all just make it so much fucking worse.
