I once freaked out Hugo Weaving
Like High Fidelity, a great book that managed to get a great film adaption.
Gave Gene Hackman a chance to show off his fantastic comedic skills

Probably the book I’ve read the most times in my life. I love the movie exactly as it is, but the book is even better.

I now feel like we have been truly robbed by not having his delivery of the line ‘a little too much cologne’

Ford was good, Mikkelsen was good, score was good, the rest of the film tried too hard and yielded too little.
I love Mangold, but his instincts were all wrong - sad sack, given up, grumpy old Indy is the most wrong footed approach - tired but clinging to adventure, unable to quit Indy is the story

A: it’s boring and redundant, it’s not a new argument, we’ve been over this again and again!
B: OF COURSE ITS A CHRISTMAS MOVIE!!!
Not only because of the setting, or the music - the themes of redemption and mending relationships are classic Christmas Movie tropes, It’s a Wonderful Life with Guns!

It’s a very funny movie.
It’s also a terribly sad movie.
It’s an extremely intense movie.
It’s also an absolutely brilliant movie.

I love Fargo, first saw it when I was about 15 and it was a brilliant education on what a film can be. No other film plays around with tone as successfully as this.

Lost does make sense, I promise!
There are some minor plot threads that they can’t resolve (for reasons that can’t be explained without spoilers) and some that they never actually intended to, but the core narrative is if anything over explained by the end!
It’s not perfect, but it is great.

At its core The Pitt is all about the selfless pursuit of helping strangers - it’s a celebration of dedicated and caring people who believe in everyone’s right to be safe and part of a community.
There’s a massive comfort in embracing this mindset.

It’s firmly in the list of ‘perfect’ movies - an amazing cast doing terrific work, with Guy Pearce owning the film whilst being gifted the greatest of all ‘Naive hero learns how to play the game’ arcs - and also the most effective use of sirens in all of cinema!

Exactly, they already have this months money anyway, so I have a few weeks of watching Only Murders in the Building before the deadline hits - then I guess I’ll dig my old simpsons DVDs out
