Day 36 of building my startup: I finally got one portion of the main feature accurate enough to use. The next few steps should be a lot simpler.

Day 29 of building my startup: after many failures, we have decided to change our approach to training our image detection model. I’m hoping to make an accurate model before the end of the year.

Day 27 of building my startup: I made the decision to pivot to just serving FRC robotics teams. My friend and I realized that it would be much simpler if we just start by offering the product to a specific group of people.

I'm probably going to allow waitlist signups this Wednesday.

Day 17 of building my startup: I now have a somewhat functioning app (with a terrible UI). In the next 2 or 3 weeks i’m gonna allow people to join the waitlist for beta testing. Progress is being made very fast!

Day 15 of building my startup: my friend built a new AI model that is way more accurate at detecting objects. I am now working on UI and backend stuff to turn this into a usable app. We are probably going to have our first functioning version done sometime this week.

Day 9 of building my startup: after over a week of me and my friend trying to improve the object recognition we came to the conclusion that classical CV is not good enough for what we are doing. Starting tomorrow we will try to use proper object recognition models.

Day 3 of building my startup: i worked on some UI as well as getting some advice from a friend on how to improve my computer vision system. It’s coming together very quickly!

Day 2 of building my startup: i managed to get a lot of the computer vision code working. its not perfect and it needs a lot of fine tuning but now it is able to count the number of items in a picture

Dear website owners,

If you do not provide a 'reject all' option meaning you want me to reject all requests individually, I will never return to your website.

The irony that 'Open'AI is so closed that a Chinese open model can come in and deflate the OpenAI bubble in less than a week...

first thing I saw when I woke up was that the internet isn't working. This is gonna be a wonderful day.

Today I learned the hard way that PIR motion sensors can't see through glass. I was showering and suddenly all of the lights turned off and wouldn't turn back on.

Somehow docker crashed bringing everything down with it. I managed to fix it by deleting the config file.

Thread to remind you about how awful private for-profit healthcare can be.

It's almost like we shouldn't tolerate this!
Storytime.

In 2005, my mom died from cancer, but the real cause was the actions taken by an insurance company 12 years earlier. What happened to her was evil, hard to identify or fight, and hidden from the public by legal mechanisms. Because of that, I have no idea how often it has happened.
