Again, focusing on individuals staying or going misses the point.

What does become a real problem is when the issue gets framed (usually by more gentry expats or those who follow them) as "everyone who stays is doomed."

That is false and it is genuinely, unacceptably damaging.

Vast, vast majority of trans people aren't going to leave the country. Many can't leave the areas they're currently in.

If trans survival/liberation are something one cares about, at all, that's the reality.

So...🧵

(And no, this is not — in the main — about indviduals leaving the country).

You know what helps? Being informed about the bills by reading our article and contacting the governor.

dont rely on idols, dont rely on Big Figures to save you. that wont happen. you have to save yourself. yes you, the reader. you have to work with your community. go organize, go work with your community, make connections, do mutual aid.

im an anarchist first, and a journalist second -- the entire reason i do this work is because i think its the best way i can help out on many different causes i care about while also trying to show people how anarchism can be a useful set of principles to get us out of the Fascist Hellscape
