Comic Art Alley Cats by zingstarling in the style of nell brinkley comics telling the story of a young girl called flora who was raised in a church but moves out on her own. Text reads as follows: There was a young orphan maiden, Flora, who just turned eighteen. She craved to live alone and venture into the unseen To the nuns she asked " Now I'm an adult, may I move to town?" "I'll be looked after by the doctor who'd ensure I'd never frown!" "Be careful being on your own and not to be led astray The world is filled with temptations and sin that seems only play So, remember young one be wary of who you espouse You're the purest flower, Flora, but alas you are a Faust." Miss Flora Faust was raised by prudish men of the cloth. Upon any gaiety they would begin to worry and wroth They never danced, they never drifted They'd never allow for the things to keep ones sprits lifted Her mentor, Dr. Ingrid who furnished her an apartment -- though wild and carefree; if pushed would still deliver admonishment A wise old fox determined to teach Flora lessons hard won. A naive young Flora, however, found her life lessons dull and overdone. Flora kept secrets only known to her beneath her manner -- and obedience; she yearned for a life with glamour. Careful of enticement and afraid she'd be oust, she still was easily seduced-- for her name was Flora Faust.

I moved from goodreads to StoryGraph a long time ago. StoryGraph is better and is more modern and accessible! So glad it exists

Goodreads is owned by Amazon & there is an AMAZING alternative‼️

The StoryGraph is a black women-owned competitor to GoodReads with better UI in my opinion.
When you sign up you can even transfer your data from Goodreads to StoryGraph!
