I forgot to post up my VCFMW table setup yesterday. There were so many lovely folks to chat with and share my love of these systems with.

The lead-up work for conventions is so stressful, but seeing so many folks connect with systems from Japan makes it all worthwhile.
Six systems set up on tables - Casio Loopy, NEC PC-9821, Fujitsu FM-NEW7, Sharp X68000, Sharp MZ-1500, and Panasonic A1 MSX2 - playing different games or running different software.

I accidentally glitched out an animation I was working on and created a perfect example of what the passage of time feels like to someone with ADHD

It's such an interesting system. I was showing off one at VCFMW with a Unicard installed since my QD drive is acting up.

Side note: QuickDisk was also used in the Famicom Disk System (just with a little extra bit of plastic at the bottom to prevent folks from using non-Nintendo produced disks).

At first I was trying to understand why someone would want everything separated, but now with my MZ-2200 it makes total sense (and makes fixing something like the tape deck easier if it dies).

I may be sore, bruised, and without much of a voice, but VCFMW was a lot of fun. Met so many people and was able to talk about so many different Japanese systems that I think it was worth it.

And surprisingly I did not walk away with another computer 😂

Thank you for stopping by, and I'm so glad he enjoyed it! Maybe next year we'll have another translated game for him to play!

Thank you! I wish I had room (and trunk space) to show off more. I'm hoping next year to have more of my Sharp MZ systems working with fun software

Thanks! You were definitely missed.

I know as a child I thought it was saying "OK Ska?" or "OK Scott?". I say this at least once every other week.

I'm hoping all of them cooperate with me over the next ~11 days while I clean them up and find suitable software to run on each.

It's #Sharptember everyone. Good thing I'm already working on a bunch of Sharp systems for #VCFMW.

Who can make it officially Sharptember?

September is now (un)officially #Sharptember 😀🙂To kick things off here is the best photo ever taken of the Sharp MZ-80A and its disk drives - courtesy of @heredragons.be

The 80A came out in 1982 as a direct successor to the MZ-80K. It is a Z80 machine running at 2MHz.

Today we have released ares v146. This release is significant because it introduces emulation for the Pioneer LaserActive, which has never been emulated successfully in the past.

Who was the first person to use kilo = 1024?

We need to know them by name and be reminded of what they forced upon us.

I love the way I label parts. Sometimes it'll be months before I get to something and I surprise myself.

"Lotus - CGROM Relocator"
vs
"Lotus - CGROM Relocator But Pretty"

I believe you're right. I'd have to compare normal gameplay to yours, but I think all the 3D X68K games were just mods/hacks.

I've never seen this game before, so I ripped the font and added it to the arcade font engine!

I played Bow-Wow Puppy Love Story (Wanwan Aijou Monogatari)! I liked it a lot! It was really cute, the writing was delightful and had a lot of fun moments. It was a charming little VN! Also it made me cry really hard

Hey Casio Loopy fans, the first English translation (and great localization) of Puppy Love Story is available!

It even includes a translated manual!

I'm delighted to announce my English translation of Puppy Love Story on Casio Loopy, a visual novel penned by Kenji Terada. You can play on real hardware with a Floopy Drive, or emulate with LoopyMSE. I translated the manual as a little bonus too! Prepatched available at archive.org/details/pupp...
