Life’s too short to read negative reviews of things people don’t like.

Ready my Sunday recommendation of something I love here: www.thehallofeinar.com/2025/06/the-...

At home with my parents for a while means a visit to my childhood stomping ground - Medlock Vale Country Park.
Lovely to see this female Kingfisher in glorious sunshine.
Fabulous isn’t she?

The name Sanderling is from the Old English sand-yrðling, or ‘sand-ploughman’.

This one has been ploughing the tideline for tasty morsels and is heading down the beach for more rich pickings.

I got my first Xmas card today. I say 'I', it wasn't addressed to me, but to the previous owner. I still opened it and put it on my fireplace. I don't know where he lives now and neither do his credit card company. Thank you for sending it anyway Pauline, whoever you are.

A Black Guillemot in breeding plumage is a thrill.

Even more so when it has a freshly caught fish to display.

Arctic Terns are such handsome birds, with their dark caps, long tail streamers and red bills and feet.
