This is a critical and promising first step.

If there will ever truly be a future in which both Israelis and Palestinians have safety, peace, and self-determination, it starts with releasing the remaining hostages, surging aid into Gaza, and ending this war.

Two years since we woke up to a nightmare. Two years of war, of unfathomable pain & suffering. Enough. It’s time for the hostages to come home, for the war and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza to end, and for a future of safety & peace for Israelis and Palestinians.
Graphic with a dark background and a single candle flame glowing softly in the center. Text reads:
“Two Years Since October 7, 2023. Two years since we woke up to a nightmare — to the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust. Two years of hostages in captivity. Of war, and of unfathomable pain and suffering. Of extremists exploiting that pain to fuel antisemitism and broader hate around the globe. Enough. It is time for the hostages to come home, for the war to end, for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza to truly be addressed — and for a future in which Israelis and Palestinians can finally live in safety and peace.”

JCPA CEO @amyspitalnick.bsky.social in @jewishinsider.com on how October 7th and its aftermath reinforced false binaries and false choices on antisemitism and Israel - and why it’s now even more urgent to lean into the hard work of coalition building.
Graphic styled as a Jewish Insider article excerpt. Header reads: “How Oct. 7 revolutionized Jewish advocacy.” Below is a headshot of Amy Spitalnick with text: “Amy Spitalnick, CEO of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs.” The quote reads: “Oct. 7 and its aftermath have only reinforced the false binaries and false choices that have long shaped the conversations on antisemitism and Israel. Extreme voices on both ends of the political spectrum have worked overtime to pit the Jewish community against others: those on the right who say we cannot counter antisemitism without undermining our democratic institutions and values, and those on the left who say we cannot be proudly Jewish or connected to Israel while remaining committed to humanitarian and democratic values. All of this makes it even more urgent to lean into the hard work of coalition- and partnership-building across lines of difference, despite it feeling more challenging than ever.” The JCPA (Jewish Council for Public Affairs) logo is at the bottom.

This Sukkot, we hold joy & sorrow side by side—celebrating tradition & community while marking two years since October 7th, the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust.

Graphic with a blue background and the JCPA (Jewish Council for Public Affairs) logo at the top. Text reads: “This year, we embody the paradox at the heart of Sukkot: holding joy and sorrow side by side. We celebrate the beauty of our tradition and community while mourning the lives lost on October 7th and since. We pray for the hostages who remain in captivity, for an end to the war and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, for peace and safety for Israelis and Palestinians, and for the strength to resist despair.” Below the text is a photo of a person holding a lulav and etrog — the traditional Sukkot symbols.

This Sukkot, we reflect on all those - including immigrants and refugees - seeking shelter. Our safety as Jews is intertwined with theirs. Jewish values call us to reject exclusion and build an America of justice, dignity, and welcome—where every community can thrive.

As synagogues and other institutions apply for vital nonprofit security funding - and they should - they need assurance that they will not be forced to choose between their safety and core religious values. Read our letter to the Administration asking them to waive vague conditions on ICE and DEIA:

As we near Shabbat and 2 years since the 10/7 attacks, we are closely following this news from the region — and pray we’ll soon see the day the hostages are all home, the war ends, Gazans get the humanitarian relief they need, and Israelis and Palestinians can truly live in peace and dignity.

Our CEO @amyspitalnick.bsky.social in @nytimes.com on how deep polarization on issues like the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is being fueled by zero-sum narratives and conspiracy theories amplified on social media.
Graphic with a faded civil rights march in the background and a white text box overlay featuring a New York Times excerpt. Text reads: “How people form views on the Israel-Gaza war has been complicated by influence campaigns, as well as artificial intelligence-generated images and bots that may be pushing one-sided content. ‘There’s a direct link between the rise of polarization on issues like the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the ways in which this has been repeatedly reinforced by zero-sum thinking and conspiracy theories on social media,’ said Amy Spitalnick, the chief executive of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs.” The JCPA (Jewish Council for Public Affairs) logo is at the bottom.

We stand in solidarity with Manchester’s Jewish community after the horrific Yom Kippur synagogue attack. This escalating epidemic of antisemitism, hate, & violence threatens not only Jews but the very fabric of our society.

Full statement: jewishpublicaffairs.org/press-releas...
Graphic with the JCPA (Jewish Council for Public Affairs) logo at the bottom. Header in white text on an orange background reads: “JCPA Heartbroken by Deadly Attack on Manchester Synagogue on Yom Kippur.” Main text says: “Jews around the world are feeling increasingly unsafe as antisemitism, hate, and violence become normalized. Too many of us have feared news like this, especially on the High Holidays, when community gathers and feels especially vulnerable. This tragedy does not happen in a vacuum. Normalized antisemitic hate leads to real-world violence — from Tree of Life to the Capital Jewish Museum, Boulder, and now Manchester. It threatens not only Jews, but all communities, and the very fabric of our society.” A small orange box at the bottom right reads: “Read the full statement: jewishpublicaffairs.org.”

We know government shutdowns have real impacts on real people: Cuts to essential services like food assistance and lost wages, as well as the threat of using this "opportunity" for mass layoffs. Congress & the Administration have an obligation to reach a deal that truly protects our communities.

Breaking News: The U.S. government has shut down, after Congress failed to pass a bill to keep federal funding flowing. Hundreds of thousands of workers are set to be sent home without pay, and a wide range of federal programs will be disrupted.

Political rhetoric is fueling real-world violence. Weaponizing government against political opponents while defunding programs that investigate & prevent domestic extremism makes all of us less safe. If safety's the goal, we would strengthen—not gut— domestic terror programs.

This #LGBTQHistoryMonth we honor Jewish leaders who shaped history: Betty Berzon, @rabbisandra.bsky.social, Edie Windsor, Harvey Milk, Rabbi Stacy Offner, & so many more. Jewish values call us to dignity & inclusion—faith must never be used to justify exclusion.
