Don't blame me...I voted for her.
Absolutely! Especially the little dried ones, which are also great in muffins and oatmeal cookies too!

I heard Werner Herzog's voice when I read this.

I hereby repeal the laws of physics, starting with gravity!

Enjoy!

Yep. Ask the descendent of an Italian or Greek who moved to central Utah to mine coal 100 years ago whether they were considered "white" then.

The horseshoe theory of medical skepticism.

Funny that, to the Supreme Court, "whiteness" has the same vague definition as pornography: "I can't say what it is, but I know it when I see it"

I wish I could be around several hundred years from now to watch a historian try to parse that collection of words.

I have the same problem, only it's the MRI machine and my head. 😆

The White House press corps is best understood as a hungry school of piranhas in which each individual would just as soon turn the others in a Darwinian competition to get the next the next question in and advance their own career aspirations.

"Donald Trump is in hell. If only we weren’t trapped there with him."
Such a great encapsulation, not just of the Kennedy Center Honors but [gestures broadly] all of this.

I always think that Howdy Doody's wish of becoming a real boy was granted (without the cerebral upgrade).

This guy is from my neck of the woods and because I teach history, I do know who he is. That said even 99% of Utahns probably have never heard of him, much less the argument he's a founder of the modern west. I totally gotta read this book!

I've changed my mind about participation trophies. Clearly this man did not get enough growing up. Parents: if you don't want your kid to grow up with a psychopathic need for recognition, give all the trophies you can now, while they're young and it's harmless.

And now, elementary school kids can't understand why quarter past six is 6:15 instead of 6:25.

🤔 One more data point in favor of the idea that we're currently living in a second Know-Nothing era. Only this time, Mormons have become so acculturated into American society that some people include us as "Christians"

Yeah, don't get me started on coaches. Like you said, no shade, but I've lost so many job opportunities because I don't coach anything. Meanwhile the coaches that get hired to teach history teach historical *content* instead of historical *thinking*.

In my mind, the real revolution was what took place in the hearts and minds of Americans to justify their separation and to create a singular republic after it.

Yeah. I generally like anything Burns does, and he definitely has a knack for making history accessible to the general public but I thought that overall it spent too much time on battles, and not enough time on the events preceding and succeeding the fighting. /1

I miss the days when cartoons treated kids and adults like they had some degree of intelligence and didn't have to resort to crass humor to be funny.
