The thing to understand about all these network states is:

The *polite* techno-optimistic version of slavery is “we’ll invent robots with superhuman AI and they’ll be our servants.”

But the real Tell is that Balaji et al are trying to jumpstart their little Galts Gulches *right now*, sans-robots.

So where’s the labor force supposed to come from? Slavery.

I think that’s also why there is a such a large push to create an essentially stateless population by weaponizing global immigration systems the people who get caught up are open to capture and might even sign up to one of their network states as a Faustian life raft
