I’ll raise all those who say they got their first tattoo at 50. I was 60 - a line from a love letter to my mum from my dad, in his handwriting. He said the sensible thing for them would be to wait to get married and save up, but she’d taken all the sense away from him.

On Google Earth my mum and dad’s home is still theirs & my old dog is sitting in his favourite place. They hopefully are altogether now in the clouds, in the house they were in love with from the moment they stepped into it. New people have it now, but it will always be this happy place in my head.
