Call me old fashioned, but if I'm gonna watch a new adaptation of something, I want it to be a NEW adaptation. I don't want something that's just more of what I can already watch. But then I won't be watching it, so I guess my opinion doesn't matter 🤷‍♀️

Even if Joanne weren't a bigot with mold growing in her brain, this show would still represent such utter creative bankruptcy, that I can't even begin to imagine how anyone could be excited for it. Everything I've seen is virtually indistinguishable from the visual identity established by the movies

Sigh... Yet another dazzlingly bright star fades out while HE'S somehow still alive. At this point it almost makes me angry that anyone still insists there's a merciful and loving god up there.

If you're not standing for utterly and completely abolishing ICE and prosecuting everyone in this administration to the fullest extent of the law, then you're worse than useless, and you need to get out of the way.

Y'know what Bill? I'm so thankful that you're cool. So many of my childhood icons have turned out so disappointing. It's good to get on here every day and see you actually being a good guy.

(honestly though, a tiny sadistic part of me REALLY wishes Harry was still listed as an Ensign 900 years later 🤣)

And the reason I don't think Nog made it is because we see other familiar names like Harry Kim, who was apparently eventually promoted to Admiral. Others like Tom Paris and B'elanna Torres apparently never achieved higher ranks either, but unlike Nog, I could see them choosing to leave Starfleet.

I think it's just highly decorated officers, as well as civilians who worked with Starfleet. In April's case, he would still be listed under most decorated captains, even having been promoted since then. Especially since most of his notable accomplishments were from when he was Captain.

I'm really bummed to see that Nog never made it past Lt. That probably means he didn't live very long past the end of DS9 in-universe. 😞 But at least we can assume he did something incredible enough to still be remembered and have a ship named after him 900 years later. RIP, Aaron.

Ngl, I fully understand why they went with the classic D, but part of me was really hoping that the hangar door was gonna open up to reveal the E. Either that, or that or would be the Galaxy-X variant from All Good Things just to bring it full circle.

RIP Enterprise-E, Cerritos, Protostar, and Titan/Enterprise-G, I guess 😑

"Inspired Apocalypse Now"? ...Huh? Since when? Apocalypse Now was explicitly a reimagining/adaptation of Heart of Darkness. Also considering the themes of that movie, it seems very weird to mention it in conjunction with a white savior movie.

I still remember how my dad had to make a strict rule that nobody was allowed to touch the newspaper before him, because otherwise my sister and I would tear it apart to get to the comics

Or just got bored and abandoned them completely, since they weren't making money off of them anyway. I remember that happening with a few that I was invested in.

You'd think by now that developers who know their game is crap might have learned that their only possible saving grace is if they make it easy to mod.

"I know I should be numb to this bullshit, but I'm not" has been my mantra since 2016. I'm so tired. 🫩

Not to worry! I'm sure Congressional Democrats are hard at work preparing sternly worded letters and solemn tweets as we speak

It was his inability to reign in bad actors like Manchin, Sinema, and Fetterman. It was his refusal to drop out until the 11th hour, despite having no path to victory, thus paving the way for another Trump term. The issues with Biden were myriad. The Green New Deal was not one of those issues.

It was his advanced age and clearly declining mental faculties. It was his continuation of harmful immigration policies, and Harris' pledge to make them even worse. It was his tone-deaf insistence that the pandemic was over, Ang that everything should return to normal.
January 8, 2026 at 7:12 PM
This is SUCH a disingenuous take. The Green New Deal was absolutely not the primary reason why people took issue with Biden. It was his support of genocide. It was his Justice Department's indolence in decisively prosecuting Trump. It was his failure to meaningfully roll back Trump's worst policies.
