Working to discern what's real from what's imagined.
Considering the self to be something separate inside - this to me, Mr. Reich, is the root of such problems.

In effect it means half of our electorate will have to actively unite for change. Maybe that's why the oligarchs focus so much on dividing us and turning us against one another.

Is it willful ignorance; indifference? For many, I suspect the cascade of outrages since the sham came down the escalator leaves us shaking our heads. So we will donate & campaign to flip the House & Senate, we will help secure polling places and in this way, we will begin to end his manic reign.

When you speak, the room goes quiet. People listen, and not just to get the gist of what you're saying, but to feel it. And like reaching an oasis in the desert, we are parched for both the message and the feeling of faith in the potential for change..

They stole the oil from us, he said of their 1945/1976 nationalizations, so we have the right to take it back? And China's claims to Taiwan are legitimate as well? Russia's of Ukraine? The Sioux tribe's of the United States?

Minus the charade of WMD's, this misadventure maps onto the Bush/Cheney playbook: We will be seen as liberators, the people will welcome us, the oil companies will unleash prosperity for Iraq and for us, and in the early going, there was no threat of resistance, of insurgencies, until...

Minus the charade of WMD's, this venture bears many similarities to Bush/Cheney's Iraq debacle. We were liberators then, remember? -the people would welcome us, the oil companies would be a boon to them, no such thing as insurgencies until...

Something ominous in the sharp rise of precious metal prices - seems to be an investment boom in safe haven metals spurred by a lack of confidence in the viability of other investments and a suspicion of how far-reaching the effects of a pop in the bubble might be.

How big is this cult? Polling and Nielsen ratings of Fox News suggest it's 39% of us, and they sure do seem to grab our attention. The outrages unsettle us for an hour or a day until the next one appalls us, but surely if 61% of us are prepared to vote this guy out, our plan must be to organize.

Good point. You posted it here and it's still up. We at bluesky seem to be a community focused on critical thinking as opposed to that other place where sniping is lauded.
December 28, 2025 at 12:47 AM
Stunning realization. Bernie says 60% of us are living paycheck to paycheck. This data affirms that.

Stress over finances literally shortens lives. And if not for the machinations of those whose wealth defines our world, we as a wealthy nation could be what a family is - cooperatively nurtured.

Seeing in this clip as we've seen in so many before, your probing of those whose proposals diminish their own values leads them to reflection and to silence, and it's a silencing I think is much needed in the polarized discord of our times.

How about our blue wave being of such substantial proportion that vetoes can be overridden...

Or how about a sham administration becoming so discredited even those currently enabling him no longer will...

Let's do the right things regardless.

So we knew Fox News watchers tend to think the 2020 election was stolen, the Jan 6 rioters were patriots, that climate change is a hoax. Now we see they also tend to believe the sham is honest and puts needs of the country ahead of his own self enrichment.

Where is the needed antidote to Fox News?

Wage theft and worker misclassification (classifying hourly workers as exempt from labor standards including overtime pay rules) now increasing due to deportations of those previously granted work permits. More people driven into the shadows to avoid deportation, more people subject to the above.

Viewers of Fox News tend to believe the 2020 election was stolen, the J6 rioters were patriots, that climate change is a hoax....

Did you see that clip of a citizen yelling to an ICE officer, You're ruining our country followed by the officer: Liberals already ruined it. - a Fox News viewer.

You hope our kids don't see him as what's normal in a president.

12-year olds in 2016 became voters this year having grown up with his misdeeds and subsequent exonerations that are the only normal they know from experience.

No more exonerations. Our youth need to know misdeeds have consequences.

And what latitude are they given to verify entrants to the bathroom qualify under that new state law?
December 15, 2025 at 9:25 PM
Mr. Elias, with those state voter rolls, is it possible/is it likely the DOJ would contact blue voters en masse prior to the elections to challenge or misinform them about their eligibility or in some way make it more onerous to maintain their registration status?
December 13, 2025 at 11:50 PM
How did so many of us raised on love come to disdain others instead?

It seems to me we might be welcoming the stranger, feeding the hungry, freeing the oppressed but for the alternate scripture from those who use our disdain to their benefit. The clearest if not only example of this is Fox News.
