I really like them both but if I'm forced to choose I would go for the low contrast one.

Usually I store my skeins in hanks because there won't be that much tension on the yarn than I would keep them in cakes. I don't see much difference in both options personally but of course it could be a matter of storage space too.

It really depends where I'm spinning. At home I prefer my supported spindles, mostly Tibetian or Russian styles. When I'm on the road, I love my crossarm spindles because they're so portable. It's so easy to pick them up to make something useful while waiting for the train.

Zwartbles is my favourite fiber to work with. I hope you'll have a cheerful spinning time.
