Liners used to look nice. I once passed the QE2 (built a few miles from where I live) while crossing to Manhattan on the Staten Island Ferry. They seem to have forgotten about style nowadays

Thats fantastic - you can even see the Statue of Liberty's torch is lit up.

QE2. British built, British Crewed, British designed, owned by a British company. Her replacement QM2 is wonderful, but is American owned, French built and internationally crewed. She also takes 7 or 8 days to cross instead of QE2's 5...
