Finished the Thaumaturge. It’s a very serious RPG, set in Russian occupied Poland in the early 1900s. Enjoyed it but not for everyone as the combat is confusing (and I’ve finished the game but still not 100% sure of its nuances). Your decisions do make a difference so beware.

Well I watched the new Frankenstein film. It was excellently scripted, beautifully shot. I really enjoyed it overall, but one criticism is the Creature’s part was a bit truncated and simplified. I understand it’s because it’s a film, but it made the pacing a bit off. Recommended to any fans.

Against my better judgement I’ve ordered the Asian physical copy of Atelier Ryza DX Trilogy. Koei Techmo has been very shady, not giving an upgrade option to the games (which have been out on PS4/PS5/Switch for years).

I will get to the end of Trails from Zero…but sometimes they prattle on for 30 mins at a time. Great game but also a VN at times.

Against my better judgement, I decided to watch season 4 of the Witcher. I’m no aficionado of the books so I’ve not got that reference (or weight of expectation). Bar a couple of dodgy lines, it’s unexpectedly good in the first 3 episodes. Hemsworth is no Cavill but he’s been good.

Happy Guy Fawkes Night (also known as Bonfire Night). If any non British followers don’t know, it’s about when the Gunpowder Plot was thwarted in 1605. Fawkes and his conspirators tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament. We have fireworks and a bonfire where we burn the “guy”.

I’m actually going out tonight…to meet some of my former work mates, who are having a face to face meeting local to me. They are a lovely bunch so looking forward to seeing them all (I retired in December last year).

The biggest old fashioned Department store in North East England has been producing a Christmas window since 1971. This year looks like a stunner.
