Ex ITV & BBC crew. Winner of teaching award. Currently back at Uni getting an MSc in AI in Creative Industries (I want a say in the AI business.) Loves a good story.
In the Reith Lectures Stuart Russel said we shouldn’t give AI companies the same freedom as fossil fuel companies which have told individuals they need to be mindful of their use of fossil fuels. AI tools that cause harm/moral injury should not be publicly available.

Watching Americans saying this is too much now, they need to vote differently is like running in a marathon and realising you should have trained a bit.

Our government should be ashamed. We have people in our prisons on hunger strike and they are close to death.

Don’t give me chopped up fried egg and tell me it’s scrambled.

Just catching up on the Graham Norton Show. What a joy to see Alison Limerick performing ‘Where Love Lives’ and to hear she’s getting lots of love again for that banging tune.

Don’t expect a revolution, people quietly do acts of rebellion when governments and corporations fail them. Bank of Dave is an example of a failed system that someone has taken into their own hands. Most people won’t go down official routes and the secrecy will further bond communities.

In the 1948 Declaration of Human Rights article 15 states: Everyone has a right to a Nationality. So yeah, I stand with the ECHR. They are right to question this. We shouldn’t normalise taking away human rights.

Watching a Netflix show about the movies being made in 70s that reflected the disenchantment of the times. Disaster movies, vigilante films and tv provided recent nostalgia with shows like ‘Happy Days’.

Screaming at the TV “She’s not the Queen” and then walking off

Merry Christmas everyone. I loved ‘Finding Father Christmas’ on Channel 4 last night. Hannah Fry was my highlight.

Now that we have HD tv that show more fps, dogs can now watch tv instead of seeing a flashing image because the frame rate used to be too slow for them. I’m fascinated to see what favourite movies and tv shows dogs have. It’s freaking adorable

Creating AI slop was always the point. We stopped trusting newspapers and broadcasters and turned to the internet to find out what was really going on, from the people who were experiencing it. It will get to a point where we won’t trust video footage.

When Tom Daley came out of the closet, those of us in queer community felt a pleasing sense of satisfaction because we’d been waiting for him. However there are some people we’ve been waiting for for years and we need to come to terms with the fact that some people mess with our gaydars.

The Marvelous Miniatures Workshop on BBC iPlayer is quite something. Having worked in animation it shows the incredible skill and talent of makers of miniature props

I’ve just done my MSc in AI in the Creative Industries and when I listen to Richard Osman on The Rest is Entertainment say he thinks AI is the future of film and TV, I’m curious. What does he know that we don’t?

Our Christmas tree doesn’t give off much of a smell. In the past it’s always hit me when I’ve walked in the room, but not this year. How have I bought the only unscented Christmas tree?

Going to Salford Uni tomorrow, just looking for a cafe that’s open beyond 4pm to have a coffee before the main event starting at 6pm. It’s not easy. When I went to that Uni we had the canteen that stayed open into the evening and the students union that had a tuck shop and old lady that ran it.

Getting the panto tickets booked. Taking our mate and her kids, who said she might not tell the 5 year old about it, because she had a school trip to Waitrose cafe the other day and couldn’t sleep because she was so excited.

Couldn’t imagine working in the BBC News rooms today. “So has Trump given a statement about Rob Reiner? He said what? Oh God”
December 15, 2025 at 9:16 PM
Not only was Rob Reiner a brilliant movie director, he campaigned for people’s rights, including LGBT rights. I’m so sad to hear the news about his death, it’s all the more cruel to know he and his wife were taken from us with violence.

Cutting aid to foreign countries seems to make sense when you’re country is struggling financially but the UK is one of the largest economies in the world. We can afford to give foreign aid and should because it keeps the baseline of human rights and we should be in agreement: human rights matter.

I’m also currently reading this because I wanted to know the real reason of why we go to school and how it’s different to prison. Because let’s be honest, school and prison do have a lot in common.

I’m currently reading ‘How to Stick’ by Chip and Dan Heath. It’s about what captures our imaginations and why. This is more about advertising, storytelling and copywriting rather than why am I interested in photography and my brother interested in WWII?

Just watched ‘24 hrs in Police Custody’. I wasn’t expecting someone who has shot 2 people in the face to be so nonchalant. It’s chilling to watch.
