This good boy is off for the week - no school! - so he came to office hours and hung w me today. So proud fo have him on campus and pal around with. Love this kid.

Very sad to see CPB and PBS struggle and potentially come to an end. PBS has been a friend to many documentary filmmakers like myself and has supported non-fiction storytelling/filmmaking for many years. My first documentary, "The Factory," aired numerous times on KET, Kentucky's PBS affiliate.

An odd/big ask: do any of my entertainment industry friends have a contact for Tom Selleck? My offspring has watched the original Magnum for the few years and is a huge fan. Was wondering if anyone had a lead on how to write a fan letter. :)

This weekend Jackson played what I guess was his last 13u baseball game. They got runners-up in a tournament and the team did so good. He had a couple of nice hits and RBIs and looked good on first base. I am very biased - but I love seeing my big blonde out there.

Sometimes I take a picture of him just because I can. He'll be gone, out on his own, sooner than I want to believe. He's usually a good sport about it, gives me a smile. Also, this picture was taken after baseball practice tonight. He's stinky - but still beautiful.

Screenwriting friends, who knows a lot about Coverly? I have a short on there that was suddenly awarded a couple of badges. The script has been on there for a year or so. Kinda forgot about it. I'm not sure what that means, etc. I don't understand who is reading it. Who can help me out?

Occasionally, I wake up in the morning, lay in bed for a few minutes, and think about the day. Then it hits me: my word, I am the father of a 13-year-old son! How'd that happen? I didn't see that coming.

Took my boy to the park and we shot some hoops. Gave him a little lesson, and showed him a few things. When we were done, we sat on a bench and talked about basketball, baseball and life a little bit. I'm trying to do a better job of just sitting and listening to him, hearing what's in his heart.
