New video! I review Vincent Adinolfi's HEARTWORM -- an ode to classic survival horror that uses the genre's mechanics to weave an emotional tale about processing grief (and solving a bunch of puzzles). It also happens to be one of my favorite games of the year.

It's kind of crazy that I can't stream an RPG without being told Exactly What To Do every step of the way by a stranger. I get it. There's an optimal way to play. I kinda just wanna play, though.

Playing Far Harbor for the first time, which I'm mostly digging thanks to its haunted seaside town vibes, but I was *not* expecting this fucking Lawnmower Man puzzle-verse quest. It's... actually fun. Way too long of a segment, but a big surprise nonetheless.

There's probably no way Fallout 5 ships without some sort of settlement system. Bethesda decided that was a core part of Fallout's identity and all I can hope for is a version of it that plays as well as 76 with none of its monetization schemes. Which is like hoping for peace on Earth.

I'll be honest, that third-person update does a lot for that Avatar game. It doesn't feel tacked on at all. The camera works smoothly and the animations are silky. I think... I prefer it this way.

As a gamer, it's your right to get insufferably mad about games that don't interest you.

Trippy, funny, existential, unerringly cool. Skate Story is a Sisyphean chill wave adventure, and I adored it. It's got some rough edges and awkward controls, but its weirdness and style make up for it.

IT: Welcome to Derry is a good example of how expanding certain horror IP just stretches the concept thin. I'd say it's a 6/10 overall. There's some good in there, but not enough of it (not a pun).

My recommendation is everyone play Skate Story, like, immediately.

I'm honestly not surprised Larian is using Gen AI in their workflow. The step order for big companies has been "condone its use" to "encourage its use" to "mandate its use."

I played the Pragmata demo and ended up loving it, but now I have to ensure The Time between now and its release. A nightmare.

My Fallout 4 modding journey has been an exercise in adding as much bullshit that I can before it breaks.

Finished Terminator 2D. Pretty fun, lots of level variety, and it lands the retro shtick. Super short, though. It tries to encourage replays by having diverging story points that lead to different endings than the movie, but you're mostly playing the same content until the last level.

I think if I have one takeaway from the Rocky franchise it's that you should have a montage if you want to win. Any fight before the montage is a sure loss.

If you liked Nightreign, you'll really like a game called "Dark Souls II."
