One of the things I hate about the modern movie discourse is that films are only deemed successes or flops based on how they performed at the box office.
Was the movie good? Did you enjoy watching it? As a fan, those are the only questions that really matter to me.

Very excited for Nioh 3.
Nioh 2 is among my all-time favourite games and one of the best ARPGs ever made, but I also feel that it's severely underappreciated by fans of action games and Soulslikes. Happy to see that it's getting a sequel.

Yesterday, I read the latest Hunger Games novel: Sunrise on the Reaping.
It has strong character development, explores subjects like propaganda and grief with a thoughtful approach, and it's very well paced. I'd recommend reading the original trilogy first, but it's a worthy entry and a great read.

Can't say I'm surprised by Twitch's new 100-hour storage limit, but man, it's incredibly disappointing.
Unfortunately, I imagine a lot of speedrunning history is about to be lost because of this decision. I hope most communities are able to save as many records, highlights, and VODs as possible.

I'm 4 worlds into Tropical Freeze, and it's one of the best 2D platformers I've played.
It has everything I love about Donkey Kong Country. Great music. Cool level design. But it also has unique character mechanics, momentum, challenging levels, and Funky mode. Game's awesome.

I saw my first Del Toro film last night: The Shape of Water.
It's beautiful. Stories focused on water resonate with me, and I appreciated its representations of otherness as well as its incredible score. Also, it was cool to learn that the movie was filmed right here in Canada!

#AGDQ2025 rocked. Glad I was able to tune in this time, because it was one of the best GDQ events that I've seen in awhile. Made me remember why I loved speedrunning.

First platinum of 2025! Definitely my favorite RPG from 2024, but man.. the trophies left a lot to be desired. I could live with the missable trophies if you didn't also have to complete an entire NG+ run just to beat the superboss.
