Normally people would be suspicious about things like this but with a cybertruck everyone is just like “yeah they do that sometimes”

Some folks will rightfully be a bit skeptical of an Islamist group's commitment to a secular state, but it's worth remembering the tradition of secular liberalism in the West was kinda forged in the furnace of religious civil wars that eventually made everyone say eff it we can't do this anymore
A member of the Military Operations Command drops some pure logic:

"you want to worship God or the Devil, it's not our business, we can talk about that on a cup of tea, you convince me, I convince you, whatever. As for the State, it must accommodate for all to live in it"

Up until today I never made the connection that the word "petrified" in petrified forest meant that it had turned to stone — like it was so scared it was unable to move. You know petrified. When referring to forests/trees I never thought of the word beyond it just meaning old/fossilized.

Maybe it's because I'm currently out of work because of it, but reading that the project I worked on (Concord) is being called one of the most significant events in the games industry this year feels pretty bad! (even if it's true) Wouldn't recommend this feeling!
2024 was another momentous year for the video game industry–and not always for the right reasons.

Our thoughts on the year's most significant events.

The Brutalist was very special, and part of that was the intermission. My bladder was quite grateful.

Here's another iconic illustration by Swedish artist, Karl Jilg, depicting roads as deep chasms and crosswalks as rickety planks, showing how citiy streets are built for cars, not people.

This iconic Fabian Todorovic cartoon is still one of the best I’ve seen at illustrating the remarkable amount of space we surrender to cars, leaving little space left for everyone and everything else. The text added later makes the bonus point that many drivers still manage to complain about it.

When we first harness the ability to make entire solar systems, we're gonna do this dumb shit aren't we? It'll be the 25th century equivalent of drone shows

Concord’s Secret Level episode is out and offers another glimpse at how special of a universe we were building.

To those who saw us, and gave us a shot, thanks again, one last time.

What's an expression like 'canary in the coal mine', but thousands of canaries are already dead and so you shouldn't be shocked, but you thought for sure THIS canary wouldn't die because that would be fucking crazy right?

It could be the video games he played ten years ago OR it could be the horrific spinal injury he recently suffered that sent him spiraling into physical and mental health crises that resulted in him targeting and assassinating a health insurance company CEO.

I guess we’ll never know!

I kid you not, @itch.io has been taken down by Funko of "Funko Pop" because they use some trash "AI Powered" Brand Protection Software called Brand Shield that created some bogus Phishing report to our registrar, iwantmyname, who ignored our response and just disabled the domain

One of the privileges of living in LA is being able to show up to a movie and someone who worked on it does a Q&A. Went to an Armageddon screening at the Academy Museum that had a Q&A with songwriter of the film Diane Warren. She played all of her hits!
