I made a big pot, and Hannah @fitchandmcandrew.bsky.social decorated it. This will be for an exhibition at the Scottish Gallery in Edinburgh if it comes out well 🙂

Hannah @fitchandmcandrew.bsky.social was asked to make these plates at the request of the King himself, who, I kid you not, asked for her by name. Such extraordinary skills.

Well @fitchandmcandrew.bsky.social Hannah and I were on the telly this evening, demonstrating slipware techniques on the Repair Shop. It wasn't too bad.
The section about Lockerbie was very moving, I remember it very well

So, we're on telly tonight on The Repair Shop on the Road. We will be cringing and hiding behind the sofa. It's being shown in Scotland tonight and on iplayer, then the rest of the UK, next month. Here we @fitchandmcandrew.bsky.social are with ceramics restorer Kirsten Ramsay, back in July

A rookery money box. I love watching crows. When we fired our wood kiln, there was a horse chestnut tree full of rooks and jackdaws, and they inspired these money boxes. I would model them on firing days.

Tonight was the private view of the Upland exhibition, Decade, in the Kirkcudbright Galleries. It's a beautiful exhibition of art and craft, and good to see our pots in the cabinet. I always feel terribly shy at these things and want to hide away in a corner, but lovely to see lots of friends there

This was a naff photo eleven years ago when it was taken 😄. Why they used this in the paper today is beyond me, but anyway, @fitchandmcandrew.bsky.social and I are going to be on telly on Monday, on Repair Shop on the Road

About 15 years ago, I was lucky enough to be able to rescue Michael Cardew's dish moulds from the defunct Wenford Bridge Pottery. I made these two fish dishes on those old moulds. They're a great shape, thank you, Michael Cardew.

Our boy Fred is seven today. He's had a lovely day, bless him. My shirt has aged rather better than I have, although I'm sure it's shrunk 😉

Late night working again tonight. I've got a big order to do, and I'm avoiding it by making another big pot. I want to get better at this, so I'm going to keep practising. Curves and proportions are tricky. The order will have to wait until Monday

Lots of birdie stuff going on in the workshop at the moment, cuckoo whistles, moneyboxes, and pressed dishes, amongst other things.
We have our photographer coming next week, so we're working long days to get things finished up ready for that.

Hannah @fitchandmcandrew.bsky.social and I delivered the big pots to Kirkcudbright Galleries this morning in readiness for the Upland: Decade exhibition.
Each piece represents one of the four seasons in Galloway. I was never aware that there were more than two 😀

My hands (and belly) were on the telly last night in Scotland. They'll be on the telly in England in February. One thing that's apparent is that I haven't tidied up since June. A shot from the telly on the left and my wheel this evening on the right.

Our big pots are on their way through the kilns. The first one is now finished and awaiting its three companions. Number two will join it tomorrow. Here's Hannah @fitchandmcandrew.bsky.social, paining on glaze
