Birmingham and quilts

I went up to Birmingham, UK, to see mine and 698 other quilts at the biggest quilt show in Europe at the weekend. What a fantastic event this has turned into. It was great to start with, but I haven't been for 18 years, and it is now amazing.

I was working on my own giant jelly roll today 😊 it is getting quite heavy and unmanageable at 33.3 meters long

I have started 2 new quilt projects in the last 2 weeks that I am very excited about. Both are for juried exhibitions, so I will have to apply and wait to be accepted, but I think both are very strong ideas. Watch this space...

Quilt group catch up day💖

Spent Sunday at quilt group where we helped each other with problems.
I worked on a 30 yo quilt, to figure out what the intended design. Got most of it pinned down, now I can see where the colour needs adjusting

Slow Stitch Sunday

Been working on my special bird. Just need to add a name in the heart shape under the wing and I can send it off to be added to a larger design

I have started work on a very special memorial project, of which I am only a very small part. The bird is an Asian Crimson Winged Finch, which will be rendered in fabric using the rainbow winged pattern. I will alter it to look more finch-like. The pattern really is just a guide at the moment.

Making up samples for my upcoming class @thefolkestonebookshop in March. 4 weeks of hand stitching in patchwork techniques. I have added another session, so you can choose 11am to 1pm or 2pm to 4pm.
