Now to take a big sip of coffee before seeing who made up the bulk of the DDR'S administrative structure, as well the policies this region pursued in the past and present day.

Who do you think benefits most from institutional collapse? You're doing the rich's bidding, tearing down whatever meager barrier of state capacity previously held them at bay.

Nach Hitler, uns!

Trying to wash your hands of that and act like your views put you above that carnage while still enjoying the fruits of the imperial core is what annoys me above all else. We all have blood on our hands and to pretend otherwise just allows even more to be spilled in our names.
January 31, 2026 at 5:25 PM
There is no you or me in this, just the collective. Whether by circumstance of birth or choice of immigration, immense and neigh incomprehensible deadly force is being wielded explicitly in your name. Palestinians dont care if your liberal or progressive, the culpability is the same.

Yes you did, that's the beauty of living in a democracy, the actions of the government still fall on us all regardless of how you voted. Try explaining to the parents of those dead African children how you voted, Im sure they'll be real understanding.
January 31, 2026 at 5:10 PM
Why does the government not leap to publishing files full of personal information about SA victims? I cant imagine.

They didnt even invite him. Your mad at basic social cues around language instead of the actual impacts of policy.

Vibes over actual actions all the way down.
January 31, 2026 at 5:04 PM
Well good news, they actually didnt invite him, and just made up a clearly bullshit mea culpa about the snub at a random forum of no serious impact.

Again, 500,000 dead kids and counting on your hands.
January 31, 2026 at 5:03 PM
Do you think inviting a guy to some random event with no actual impact on policy or funding is in anyway comparable to allowing the individual run critical medical assistance through a woodchipper?

Your privilege and percieved shelter from consequences are showing.
January 31, 2026 at 5:00 PM
Im mad because Elon and company axed USAID and now 500,000 children in Africa will die from preventable diseases which could have been avoid if Trump stayed out of power.

You mad because you want to signal how virtuous you are for not pulling the lever on the trolley problem of politics.

Did you think tearing the Empire down wouldn't entail genocide, ethnic cleansing, pogroms, and mass death? Have you looked at any examples of past collapse before?

If you wanted the Empire torn down, then congratulatuons, you're getting exactly what you wanted.

The biggest barrier (imo) is just infrastructure and funding. Schumer has a staff budget of ≈$5 million/yr, which sounds like a lot, but Kristi Noem's executive staff budget is >$350 million. She has orders of magnitude more resources to pull on, nevermind all the other cabinet posts.

Part of the problem with the shadow government idea is that the executive and legislative branches in the US are wildly separated, obviously there are ranking members of the opposition on every comittee, but there isnt really any method of setting up a Shadow Def Sec

Massie was the only Republican to vote against the measure, and that's because he didnt think it went far enough. There were R votes to pass it.
January 30, 2026 at 9:23 PM
97% of the caucus voted against the bill. What sort of numbers do you think Pelosi maintained when in the minority?
January 30, 2026 at 8:51 PM
Im not saying their above critism, but the criticism should be based on things actually within their control.
January 30, 2026 at 8:50 PM
97% of the caucus voted against the bill, that suggests he at the very least bothered
January 30, 2026 at 8:49 PM
I just prefer criticism grounded in reality. In all honesty, what do you think a minority leader, Jeffries, or anyone else, could have done differently? Because the only examples I've been given relate to things the minority leader doesnt actually control.

He cant axe their funds. He doesnt control the DCCC. They were all already facing primary opponents or had announced their retirements beforehand. Its not stanning, its legitimate confuse as to what you think a US legislative floor leader can actually do here.
January 30, 2026 at 6:56 PM
We have weak parties in this country and the leaders have very little power over their respective caucuses, what could he have done to prevent those 7 defections?

I dont do it for credit but I also understand the importance of visibly resisting tyranny

Yes, in addition to my work with my local rapid response network I've spent years working with and giving to multiple LGBT+ orgs, food banks, and a DV group including at times offering up my own home to shelter those fleeing violence.
