Ageing Scotsman. Somewhat obsessed cyclist, music snob, watching himself gently dilapidate while denying reality. Gainfully employed in cybersecurity, old enough to have been doing that since before it was all glam.

Geopolitics is a turbulent mess, so here's a picture of a cute pup (mine) so maybe cheer you a little. She's as good a pup as they come, and her nature is as lovely as her face.

Interesting wee gravel foray today; as usual, out through a wind farm & slower than road but far more interesting. My mnemonic for remembering the route is built on the turbine numbers; eg, 127 is an old Fiat car. (It works for me)

My youngerbro has given me the cMP 3,1 I gave him 3/4 years back, ostensibly for some light video editing.

Can't even remember the spec- maybe it had the original GT120, maybe 16Gb RAM, and a 240Gb SSD I installed (I think?) Catalina on.

Hmm. Its almost, but not entirely, useless to me now

My left inner wrist agrees with this.

Today: feeling that wintry bleurgh thing we all get, I dunno exactly what to call it.

Thought I’d try a quick row, 6k, seems to have helped. Held it steady on the watts, higher stroke rate than normal just to get it done- it’s freezing!

She detests this, but it’s cold as all got out so it’s on with BPC* for this walk.

Big purple coat. Even mentioning these words and she’s off hiding somewhere.

Dora tells me it’s been a bumpy ride the last week or so- infected anal glands are no joke. She wants to thank all her well wishers, and her vet, for getting her through this.

Breakfast is scoffed, and she’ll have some of that cheesy pasta you’re eating too, thanks

Update: burst anal gland (dog, not children). Metacam IM and a cone of shame. Wee soul :(

Good things today x 2: youngerwean passed driving test in sunny Dundee. Elderwean got the COPFS job she wanted.

Bad things x 1: Dora Dog has some kind of unexplained puncture wound on her ass and needs the emergency vet this evening. Fingers crossed.

Lurgy-filled weekend of bronchial eruptions, didn’t escape outside for any exercise. And it was snowy. And I had to fettle cars once more.

So the outside came inside with a gentle session on MyWhoosh (Saturday) and the C2 (Sunday). Expectorating nicely now (sorry)

The ancient Fiesta my eldest child uses to self-actualise lives to drive another day.

Ball joint boot replacement, if you’re interested.

This frame and fork date from 2017, and I think I've had them on 5 separate builds to date. It's been repurposed in the past few days as my winter road bike with some unloved RS505 hydro shifters, some Shimano MTB calipers, GRX rear mech, etc.

It'll do. I'll fire some mudguards on it. Call it good.

I occasionally shamelessly plug myself by letting it slip that I had my own character in RH around about this point. I ended up being the bad guy- art imitating life- and met a sticky end.

I still owe MM about a million beers for that tbh.....it was a nice thing to do

I don't know why people are doubting you. I picked up the Power Pack from Dixons at Christmas '91 with some excellent games and a Toaster. I ended up swapping the Toaster for a copy of "Rise of the Robots" on its release day, bit of a mistake if I'm honest
