Geopolitics is a turbulent mess, so here's a picture of a cute pup (mine) so maybe cheer you a little. She's as good a pup as they come, and her nature is as lovely as her face.

I wonder if FIFA told the US it had to be a dictatorship with a poor human rights record before it was allowed to host the World Cup.

Interesting wee gravel foray today; as usual, out through a wind farm & slower than road but far more interesting. My mnemonic for remembering the route is built on the turbine numbers; eg, 127 is an old Fiat car. (It works for me)

Apple’s Advanced Data Protection: what’s going on in the UK?
OK, so perhaps it's time to post something about what Apple’s Advanced Data Protection is, what it does, and why it's inaccurate to say that Apple is "removing iCloud end-to-end encryption". Bear in m...

A reminder that Trump was excited by the Panama Canal in 2017 also, and at the time, was debunked about it costing the lives of 35k American workers. Turned out most were very low-paid Jamaicans/Central Americans.

A reminder to anyone trapped in an airport due to weather conditions right now:

You have a right to stay in a nearby picturesque village while the airline sorts out a rebooked flight for the 27th. They also have to provide a widowed lumberjack for you to fall in love with.

Know your rights.

My youngerbro has given me the cMP 3,1 I gave him 3/4 years back, ostensibly for some light video editing.

Can't even remember the spec- maybe it had the original GT120, maybe 16Gb RAM, and a 240Gb SSD I installed (I think?) Catalina on.

Hmm. Its almost, but not entirely, useless to me now
