At some point the various media need to stop with the "moving toward a crisis" nonsense and just admit that we are smack in the middle of one. On all fronts.

When I was an English teacher in E. Europe in the 1990s, jobs for Americans were everywhere and easy--just by virtue of birth. Now the competition would be fierce and my small skills not needed. I would have had to evolve and improve to stay relevant. It was a glorious time, but such is life.
A lot of Trump’s appeal comes down to the fact that people whose lives are boring & mediocre because they aren’t particularly bright, talented, or motivated, would very much like to hear a story in which actually it’s someone else’s fault.
