Sobering, but very necessary for us all to think on.

This is well worth watching. It really shines a light on the men/boys who were directly involved in WW1. Interesting but possibly more importantly, something for us all to learn from.
#FWW Podcast

Thank you: In the first three days of release, we have already had 400+ views of our fully-illustrated video podcast on the sites and astonishingly well preserved finds of the #WW1 Flanders battlefields with expert archaeologist, @simonverdegem.bsky.social.

Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde to Trump: "I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now. There are gay, lesbian, and transgender people in Democratic, Republican, and independent families, some who fear for their lives ... and the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals"

Can anyone else see the mountain troll? (Åna-Sira. Norway 🇳🇴)

Did you know Trolls don't just live in Scandinavia? We have our own Trows (probably 'cousins') here in Orkney.
Here's our own Hogboon meeting up with some Norwegian Trolls who live in Orkney with us.🧌

Great wee trip away from Orkney and a bonus forest thrown in on a cracking day. Bliss!

Look away from the standing stones in Orkney on Hogmanay. (A timely warning!)
Final #StandingStoneSunday for the year is the Stane O' Quoybune, just across Boardhouse Loch from my home. Probably Late Neolithic.

On new year’s eve it walks down to the loch for a drink and you mustn’t watch it when it does, on pain of death. Many Orkney stones do this - you’ve been warned! 🏺

Aliens at Edinburgh Castle 🏰...or maybe just a practice for Hogmanay...

The devastation on its way is unimaginable - like nothing humanity has ever witnessed before - and everyone will wish they had been climate activists and ‘hysterics’ when they had the chance. We are in a moment of unprecedented stupidity

This is the Neolithic chambered cairn of Maeshowe in #Orkney which was built 5000 years ago. Every year on the #WinterSolstice (if the sky is clear) the setting sun shines down a perfectly aligned passageway and illuminates the inner chamber.💡
