The subject of this mixed media painting from 2015 is the pond in the grounds of the Old Rectory, Yelling (a curiously named village). I enjoyed sitting there working on this. A couple of moorhens can be seen swimming around sketched in on the far side.

Found this quartz crystal at hobby lobby a while back for some at home photo experiments. Refraction is interesting enough on organic forms, but through faceted quartz it becomes controlled interference. Each face acts as its own micro-lens, splitting light into repeating geometric harmonics.
