Not caring is their super-power.
Caring is ours.
Look, if you want to condemn antisemitic graffiti, great. Antisemitic graffiti sucks.
If you want to scold a crowd for antisemitic graffiti because you assume the source was someone from bsky/twitter and you assume it was someone from a lefty space, well you don't have that information yet.
"Whoever did this is the dumbest person alive"
Or they were a person doing it for the memes.
You can't assume affiliation or deeper intent when it comes to a public acts anymore. The goal could be the reaction. In which case, reacting to it, before knowing who did this and why,is a win for the lols.

As I told @markjacob.bsky.social, Chicago journalists are doing a helluva job covering the ICE incursion of our city. The dogged, on-the ground- reporting reveals what's actually happening, not what ICE wants you to believe.

.. and then pull the 'Not me' routine like the world runs like a Bill Keane cartoon.
It appears the 'both sides' angle isn't working so hot these days:

Even 'independents', are having a hard time not blaming Republicans.

The only people not blaming Republicans are the people who self identify as "the party of responsibility"...

Hmm… wonder why this is coming now? 🤔

For the third week in a row, voters blame Republicans over Democrats in Congress for the shutdown by a double-digit margin.

This is fascism in a nutshell. Right here. "A counter-revolution against a revolution that never occurred."

So they promote a battle against a nonexistent huge wave of left-wing violence by committing a huge wave of right-wing violence? 🤨

As one of the countless people *actually* cancelled by Bari Weiss, via her vast favor-trading networks of fellow nepotistic gatekeepers in media and publishing, I think both of these asinine dipshits should go fuck themselves.
Matt Yglesias QT'ing Corey Walker

I didn’t rejoice at her cancellation and got cancelled myself at roughly the same time, but I am sincerely jealous that no regime-aligned billionaire has even fit to curry favor with the Trump administration by giving me a huge sum of money.

The vitriol against Bari Weiss is just thinly-veiled jealousy by people who rejoiced at "cancelling" her in 2020 and are furious she managed to get fabulously wealthy in an infamously brutal and low-paying industry.

Yes, precisely this. “We shouted and screamed about Trump being a dictator! And he won anyway!”

No you most manifestly did not. I was there. You did exactly what you’re doing now: argued that overreacting to Trump would alienate voters, and you should keep your head down and focus on policy.

Problem is, a lot of said political class imagine/misremember/retcon the last eight years as them having said all that.

In their minds, they all treated him like a monster/fascist/dictator. “And look where that got us! He *won the popular vote, Will*”, etc.

The misremembering is key. 😕

In other words, if you replace Professor @michaelemann.bsky.social with Professor Alfred E. Newman, you can expect the institutional climate to shift towards, "What me worry?"

The subversion of our institutions is a well funded goal on the cultural and libertarian right. If you remove competence from your institutional qualifications and make those qualifications ideological, then you've eliminated a source of competent opposition

The political right's greatest project is discrediting experts. Only in a "do your own research" world can their cultural preferences - anti-abortion, anti-gender affirming care - claim equal legitimacy to the left's medically-backed positions on those issues. SCOTUS is a full partner in that effort

The Supreme Court's conservatives advanced the right's greater project of discrediting experts Tuesday, feigning that there is no medical consensus against conversion therapy.

I know it's futile, but to the point @radiofreetom.bsky.social made about how "a court judgement against fascism DISPROVES fascism."
here's an interesting article by @pemalevy.bsky.social on the dual state of the nazis:
