We don't all have to get along, but we at least have to be able to hold a conversation in which we disagree with some class.

Cheers to 2026 🥳 To slow mornings, deep conversations, tiny wins, and big dreams. May we measure success by how alive we feel - not just how much we accomplish.

The fact that every Republican is actively lying about ACA subsidies being for illegal immigrants knowing that their base stopped fact checking them years ago is terrifying. Trump is also using the courts to block SNAP funding, so basically GOP is saying no to food and medicine for Americans. Cool

Assassinations committed by Gen Z are a product of being born into a world toxically resistant to change. These young men feel anger that they likely weren't taught to deal with, and they channel it into action they believe will get people's attention. We have to find a better outlet than violence

The only one I would want to be decreasing is the only one on the rise
This data set from @jburnmurdoch.ft.com shows declining conscientiousness and agreeableness and increasing neuroticism across generations - probably linked to smartphone use and social media.

In Trump's position, it would be a high risk/reward move to start an aggressive military campaign against the cartels in Mexico/SA. It could reduce the burden of ppl seeking asylum in US, plus reduce flow of drugs into US. Not to mention benefits to the economy of the hemisphere. Thoughts?

Had a nice conversation w/ someone from across the aisle. Sadly, when I asked if he knew what was in the megabill pushed through by Trump and his loyalists he said no. And when I asked him to learn how it affects our healthcare, he said "I can only afford to worry bout taking care of myself"

From an emergency physicians perspective, the big beautiful bill passing is confirmation that things are going to get a lot worse before they get better. All of those unable to maintain their Medicaid due to increased barriers will be in the ED to receive all their healthcare. Lines are getting long

What is the actual argument against a flat tax on retained earnings? Do rich people basically just say that it would hinder growth or some shit?

Actual things that our president did: Threatened billionaire of consequences if he donates to his political rivals. Deployed national guard against protesters.

Over one thousand cases of measles this year. Unprecedented numbers, and the obvious cause is that we have legitimized the anti vaccine movement. my heart breaks for the immunocompromised children that cannot receive live vaccines like MMR, for now they must live in fear. Herd immunity is waning:/

We need a legion of tax/accounting nerds that can actually make this reality. I've been told a lot of bullshit by both sides and don't know what to believe

I think reading that the three senators responsible for stopping a horrible bill from being passed are Ron Johnson, Mitch McConnell and Lindsay graham might be the most shocked I've been this year. Goes to show there are always places you can find common ground with others you don't like

I can't help but notice that the current administration has doubled down on the notion that the government doesn't do Anything well. They ain't perfect, but imagine having the greed of the private sector dictate EVERYTHING in your life

I've been seeing a lot of AOC 2028. It's ok to feel hope right now.

But if you honestly think she has a chance of becoming President, you need to step out of your echo chamber for a sec.

Both parties or other interest groups should be challenging every incumbent in Congress. Enough of this complacency please, I've had enough

Learning about Alexander the great has been cool, but I must say it's a little disappointing no one ever talks about how equally badass his dad Phillip II was. Dude conquered all the Greek city states and got Alexander all teed up with the best army in history to that point.

If anyone was wondering, Trump's administration is making it harder for students to ever pay off their debt by eliminating income based repayment plans that prevent interest from burying you until your income is sufficient to pay off your debt.
