It's such a bummer that this used to be one of the most recognizable photos of Andy when he was an MP... the mask is truly off.

Today I rode from Halifax (Coke Plant) to Graves Island provincial park.
While I’ll make some different choices next time, I’m immensely glad I came, and am thoroughly enjoying my time

I am reading this during my first overnight-by-bike to Graves, from Halifax. It’s just lovely here… this is the only pic that matters to me now.

After loaning it to a friend nearly two decades ago and not receiving it back, I put Douglas Coupland’s Microserfs on a wish list a while ago and received a new copy as a gift.
Just last night, I started reading it and am finding myself just as engaged by the story as the first time I read it.

The new coffee carafe has arrived. Such a huge quality of life upgrade for me.
No more chopsticks balancing on a French press 😅

You’ve been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who is coming to save you?

About a month off due to illness, travel, holidays, etc. Feels good to be back.
I’m absolutely gassed after a few tough climbs but I haven’t lost any grades so pretty happy about that.
This is the way.

I smashed my range server by accident and this is my interim pourover coffee setup. 😅
It works, but feels pretty clunky. Excited to get a new carafe.

A real bright spot this week: the lovely selection of books we received as a draw prize from the season end of #KidicalMassHfx.
A is really into books right now - the biggest hit is Go, Bikes, Go!, by Addie Boswell.
Big thanks to this whole group and to @bikehfxlobby.bsky.social for the delivery!

Strange how the mind has trouble placing what's missing when a building is demolished.
Resorted to Google Maps to see the building that was recently taken down on Creighton.
Fairly nondescript, except this beautiful wall. If you happen to have photos of this wall Halifax Halisky please share them.

My favourite note-taking pen right now is a $1.75 Japanese classic, the Mitsubishi Boxy 100.
I'm using a modded Uni Jetstream D1 refill (a bit of tape to simulate the flange on the just-ok S-7S refill that the pen comes with) in black ink.
Rhodia dot grid journal.

Not sure if your app supports them, but there depending on where you are there may also be a PWSWeather station you can get data from. There's one on the peninsula and a handful in Dartmouth. Maybe closer than the Stanfield or Shearwater stations the app is likely pulling from.

Related - are there details on the (what appears to be bike) infrastructure in the upper right of this photo? There’s a caged / roofed structure that I’m sure I’ve seen holding bikes. I don’t see it mentioned in literature and I can’t find a labeled architectural diagram on my phone, apparently.

First of many Kidical Mass rides today!
A slept through the last half of the ride and the first half of the post-ride social time, but overall a great success.
Was nice to see everyone and meet a few folks in person. We'll be back!

Haven't played a platformer as challenging or satisfying as Celeste is since You Have to Win The Game.
Really enjoying the fact that gamepass works on an iPad with a controller 👌

One of my favourite app discoveries in recent memory is one called Literature Clock.
It's what it says on the tin: literary passages that denote the current time... or as close to current as the database allows for.
Which is perfect.

This sucks.
I've had my share of road rage encounters, but I've also spoken candidly with a number of drivers that just get genuinely nervous and think that a honk is a good indication that they're about to overtake. It's--shockingly--actually recommended by the RMV handbook.
