Dear every restaurant: stop putting cheese on things unless it’s listed on the menu.

A BLT does *not* have cheese.

That is all.

I've been using composer daily for work since shortly after its release in 2013.

Today I learned that it has a *reinstall* command.

It's not a huge win over `rm -rf vendor/whatever && composer install` BUT... it is a nice quality of life upgrade.

Time to read the docs again.

There is a Participatory Budgeting event in D8 on Thursday, 6-8pm in Maritime Hall at the Halifax Forum, and we need your votes to get new bike racks for St Catherine’s School!

The rate at which our new (to us, it was in the house) stove boils a large pot of water defies all previous experience.

It's almost all I talk about anymore.

First #BikeHfx cross-harbour daycare dropoff today. Very fortunate to have as much infrastructure as we do on our route.

Definitely need a gear upgrade - the MTB + trailer combo works but is not ideal. A kid seat on my touring bike would be a big improvement while we shop for an e-bike.

Last time in Montreal, my partner and I rented bikes and without even thinking about it, toured 50km+ around the city.

Sightseeing, lunch, riding Villeneuve Circuit.

We barely interacted with cars, but still had access to the same things as if we were driving or using public transit. More, even.
@hfxgov.bsky.social This is how you combine bike lanes and bus stops.
Is there anything better than a project that improves transit and cycling?

Montreal’s sustainable mobility corridors (“corridors de mobilité durable”), like here on Henri-Bourassa, are transforming arterial roads with bus lanes *and* protected bike lanes at the same time.

Governments hate this one simple trick!
You have to increase the price.

Gate the increase beyond some daily/weekly amount if you want, but if there's a pressing need for less water to be consumed, just increase the price of consuming a lot of water.
Since implementing the voluntary conservation measures on August 5, Halifax Water has not seen a significant decrease in demand. Without significant precipitation and increased conservation measures, these water levels will continue to lower and mandatory conservation measures will be required.

Be extra careful this weekend Halifax, whether you’re walking, driving, or cycling.

People in greater numbers are parked where they shouldn’t be, in extra large vehicles, and more people are running red lights and stop signs because they don’t know the city and are lost.

Nooooo waaaaaaaay reducing and limiting the number of dangerous road users on streets leads to safer streets!? Has anyone told this to Halifax's city council?
London's mayor in the @theguardian.com:

"The number of people killed or seriously injured on London borough roads reduced by 34% following the implementation of 20mph speed limits, with the number of children killed falling by 75% (from four to one)."

Strawberry Girls has become one of my fav modern prog rock bands.

Had no idea til now that they were a 'spinoff' of Dance Gavin Dance, a band that I've heard a lot about but have never knowingly listened to.
