I like the idea of the Quaker meeting as spiritually unprotected encounter. Or unsafe? You could catch any sort of cosmic change from an unprotected encounter with the Trinity!

Talking to the dead is good. It is, so far as one can tell, bordering on normal. Having an AI pretending to be them talk back is just a recipe for never processing the loss.
