I gathered the color gradient from a photo I took of a foggy autumn sunrise. I really like how the muted color tones contrast the dynamism of the shapes. I made a tool to render the gradient, value field, colored value field, and colored pattern to preview new variations.

The pattern consists of a background with large shapes and a foreground with many smaller shapes. The larger shapes are relatively simple with high regularity, whereas the smaller shapes have more edges, sharper angles, and are more elongated.

This is 10_1_35_131_249_1_1 from a series of works that I made 🎨 at @galeriedervilla from late 2024 to mid 2025. My goal for these works was to expand my practice around using the tools I have been programming. #geometricart

It feels so rewarding to look back and see my practice developing. I focus so much on the future that I don't notice all the changes I have gone through.

One of my works in the group exhibition was a composition of 7 40x40 cm prints. It was super interesting to experiment with splitting a pattern up in shapes, thereby adding another dimension of geometry to the work. I love 💙💛 how the colors came out.

I just realised I never posted about an exhibition I was in with Galerie der Villa at HyperCulturalPassengers in Veddel, Hamburg earlier this year from February 20th to March 2nd. I have really not been keeping my socials up to date lately 😂 Is this what freedom tastes like? 😋 #geometricart

The mushroom 🍄 that provided the colors for this work was such a great find. I love how bright the red and orange colors ❤️🧡 burn in the yellow light from the low sun. I can't get over the diversity of plants, mushrooms, and bugs 🍀🍄🪲 I keep on finding around me since I started looking for them.

This is the last work in the series 🎨 I feel excited about moving on to posting about other projects ✨

This is 9_14_1_126_201_1_8 from a series I created during autumn 2024. For these works I combined a pattern of flowing shapes, with color gradients developed from photos of trees, leaves, and insects. #geometricart #abstractart #concreteart

I find the bright blue sky to be such a wonderful contrast to the orange-red-brown tones of the dried up leaves. Reminiscent of the summer gone by, yet announcing that cold winter days are drawing ever closer ☀️🍃🌨️

These colors remind me of the last few dry days of autumn ☀️🍁 The warm glow of the blanket of leaves covering the ground. Kicking up bunches of them 🥾🍂 as I am walking under the bare branches. Feeling the last heat of sunrays before winter arrives.

Last autumn I found so incredibly many sources of seasonal colors 🍃🍂🍁 This is one of my favorites because wide scale of colors. Green, yellow, orange, red, and brown coming together in a progression 🌈 like the passage of time from summer through autumn to winter ☀️🍃🌨️

I like to experiment with gradients that have contrasting groups of lighter and darker colors ⚪⚫ And if I can manage it, a group of colors with similar lightness to bring out some Mach bands 🩶 It all adds more dimensions to the work.

This gradient is proof that even the most potato quality smartphone camera photos 📸 can have interesting colors in them. I am weary of how much post-processing the smartphone software does to "enhance" ✨ the outcome though. I always make sure at least to tweak exposure and temperature.

I am excited 🤩 about how the color combinations come across in the detail views. Concentrated little bites of greenery joy 🌳 The lightness of the colors is different enough that the Mach bands are less pronounced than I would like them to be. With some patience, they still appear though 💚🩵👀

I am fascinated by how well the color gradients I create work out most of the time. It is definitely the easiest to capture nice progressions in macro shots of tiny singular structures. But this one shows nicely that larger composite structures can also have interesting colors come together.

Do you remember those final brilliant sunny ☀️ autumn days with the last reminisence of what summer used to be like? I recall feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin. Leaves brightly colored 🍃 hanging on to the last remains of their once lush green tones before fading to browns and reds 🍂

It rarely happens that I have a set of green colors that translates so well between RGB and CMYK as these did. I often feel so frustrated 😒 by the color conversion process. But the win 🏆 is so much sweeter when it turns out just right on those rare occasions.

I fell instantly in love 😍 with how this color gradient and pattern interacts with each other. Calm flows from deep greens to yellows and oranges. It gives me strong early autumn vibes where the first trees are turning colorful but there are still hardy ones around that stay green for so long.

I love 💚 it when I notice leaves that have color sequences beyond monochrome greens. Autumn 🍂 is such a great time of year to discover unexpected colors in all kinds of plants ✨🌿
