Week 9 of #sewandtell is purple and that’s not a colour I work with much so here’s the skirt pieces for a dress I’m working on tonight. A little Halloween magic for a precious little witch.

Made use of a spare half hour to get into the actual weaving this afternoon. It’s a basic colour and weave gamp but so lovely to be back at the loom.
A price of weaving showcasing different combinations of black and white thread in both warp and weft - think all on colour warp with 1 black, 1 white thread woven into it then 2 black threads and 1 white thread. Each section of warp and weft pattern has an orange stripe between them

The result - recipe is The Best Homemade Chicken Ramen by the Flavor Bender. It’s good. I went the baked sticky soy chicken route and didn’t have mushrooms so the stock was a touch sweeter than desired. Will absolutely be making it again.

So far so good, it goes over her heel.

The whole household has Covid. So much joy… I’m refusing to get out of bed. I can’t remember the colourway but the yarn is a sock yarn hand dye by Maximoo yarns.

I’ve been working on Baggu Pouch 3 by #BeatricemasDesign recently using #Mithril yarn by #Stansborough that was bought for me as a gift almost 10 years ago. Very excited to have the base and inner shell pinned out to dry. I’m not in a rush to finish this project, it’s been an absolute joy to #knit

Week 4 of #sewandtell - Favourite

I made this dress for my friends wedding after realising a few days prior that the weather was going to be way too cold for the chiffon number I originally chose. My first (and fucking only) satin garment and I love it.

The 1st article of kids clothing I ever made for #sewandtell week 1 prompt. Pretty much made best mum ever for this one as far as my little one was concerned. She wore it for three years - I have a tall thin one. Keeps going up but barely changes size anywhere else.
A sleeveless summer dress for my kiddo hanging on the back of a door. Its main fabric is unicorn print on a sort of pink and purple nebula background, with a pale blue unicorn ribbon at the waist and pink lining. All cotton except the ribbon.

Back at the warping board. This one is a slight variation on the #JSTSchoolofWeaving colour and weave gamp. Something light to get me back behind the loom.

8/2 cotton in black, white and light orange.

You can see my warping board (a big wooden rectangle with dowels poking out that you thread your yarn around. Used to measure out the warp and keep a nice even tension) with black and white cotton yarn measured onto it. It’s balanced on a painting easel to keep it at a nice height for me to work on. In the background you can see the tv that my partner is playing mechwarrior on.

They’re not big on photos but it is DONE. The Gandy sweater by Mode at Rowan for my beloved. They love it and the yarn (Darnie by Studio Donegal) has come up delightfully soft with the grease washed out. So happy - this is my first ever complete knit project.

Happy anniversary #showmeyourknits!!

Apparently the prompt today is knitters choice so here’s the stunning yarn I’ve just cast on my next project with. It is Silk Stocking in the Evermore colourway by Dyed by Hand Yarns. It’s so soft and looks almost oil slick like.

#showmeyourknits asked about WIPS and I have 3 projects going right now. Not pictured is the very slowly being knit green socks (the small needles and my hands aren’t getting along over winter)…

The collar section of the Gandy jumper. I had no idea how one would knit a v-neck but it’s come out rather tidy and looking good. Maybe should have gone down a needle size The v neck front and straight back pieces of the Gandy sweater on my vibrant blue blocking surface before I sewed the shoulder seams together and added the actual collar section. My Fairy Chasm top screwed up into the top of my knitting bowl. It’s a lovely neutral off white/cream colour in cotton 8ply

Finally got around to repairing my glove so my hands don’t turn to popsicles tomorrow at kiddo’s dance school. My husband bought me these years before we were married and I’ve been avoiding getting rid of them so I’m glad I finally started this whole mending thing.

And that’s the final cuff. Onto the pattern part of the sleeve! It’d go faster if Spirit of the North 2 hadn’t come out last month. I might be a little distracted solving puzzles as a magical fox for an hour or two each night.

Sitting at the Jason Coleman Ministry of Dance while Miss 7 does her classes. Why is it so goddamned cold in here? I’m wearing thick sock and boots, fleece lined leggings with jeans over them, a long sleeve top, Tshirt, hoodie and my cocoon cardigan.
