Your character's Job shapes how they interact with the world specifically. A Smith sees the world as a series of things to be fixed or crafted or made beautiful. A Pickpocket sees the world as opportunities to be seized.

In Gallows Corner, you are what you do. The world is formed by doing.

Your character's Trade shapes the way they understand the world generally -- The Earth, above, looks at the world as something that grows, that must be nurtured, that works with those who work it -- while The Flesh understands bodies as things to be mastered or understood.

Different perspectives.

What stories will you tell?

Gallows Corner might look like it's all about beheading kings and burning manors. But there's more to it than that.

Stories of growth, of quieter resistance, stories of community are all part of the experience.

Our Trades and Jobs system exists to make this possible.

I can assure you no mice are harmed. Rats, on the other hand, might not have fared so well...

Yeah we wanted to go creepy with the Mummers, and what is more creepy than Mr Blobby? Nothing I tell you!

(Pig mask Mummer for deeper terror).

Working with artists is one of the best parts of my TTRPG work, and working with Joel, one of our co-owners and sole artist on Mappa Mundi and Gallows Corner, is the very best part of that.

Pay your artists and give the best briefs you can and end up with exceptional work, like this for Gallows.

Today I shared the final prototype for the Gallows Corner book cover with our mailing list and Discord.

Now it's your turn, Bluesky!

Black cloth and embossed silver foil for your Peasants' Revolt RPG? And this is the STANDARD VERSION, you say?

Well, why not!

Have you dove into the Prerelease yet? Isa did an excellent job on the cover, but the other artists all crushed it, too.

Going to be cheeky and add one more to this excellent list.

Finally, from The Stranger, I'm going with the Rat Catcher.

I loved creating social outsiders, and the Rat Catcher is one of a few of our characters featuring a dog. That's it, that's the reason!

This was REALLY fun! Thank you for the question :)

For The Mind, I'm choosing the Alchemist.

The Mind was tough to design, as formal education is reserved for the rich in Gallows Corner. But we have street lawyers, alehouse philosophers, hedge astrologers, and wild man alchemists who have huffed too many of their own fumes.

What's not to love?!
November 5, 2025 at 2:32 PM
For The Masque, I'm choosing the Fool!

This is a really hard one, as I think each and every Job is excellent here, but the Fool takes it just because I think the artwork is extraordinary.
November 5, 2025 at 2:32 PM
For The Market I'm choosing the Smith.

This was the first Job I created for GC and was the first piece of artwork Joel did beyond the big banner piece. I was obsessed from the start.

I also love that the Smith doesn't just mean a blacksmith, but could be a seamstress or other creative job, too!

From The Hood, I LOVE the Burglar.

Among the criminal class in Gallows Corner, Burglars are perhaps the most obvious and straightforward: they stake out houses and businesses and then find their ways in.

But artwork wise, I am just obsessed with that cape.
November 5, 2025 at 2:32 PM
From The Flesh, I love the Midwife.

First of all, its definitely not a character type you'd normally associate with this type of game or its purpose, so I love the role they can play in subverting expectations and being advocates for women and children.

Second, that angry baby face.
November 5, 2025 at 2:32 PM
From The Earth, my favourite pick is the Marshman.

Essex, where I grew up, has a long coast. In the north, it's lovely sandy beaches, but near me, from the middle of the county down to the Thames Estuary, it's all saltmarshes.

They feature in every game I make. I love them!
November 5, 2025 at 2:32 PM
Oh I ABSOLUTELY do!

So the 48 Jobs you can choose from are each linked to one of the 8 Trades, so you can't go selecting new combos, but I will absolutely share with you my favourite Job from each of the 8 Trades.

Let's get a thread going, starting with my favourite from The Body: Pugilist.

What do you need to do?

Just repost this thread and ask your question in the replies! I'll do my best to answer each and every one we get.
