'translation' is surely a TC for languages...the shift from thinking it's about dropping equivalent words from one language into the other doesn't last long (hopefully).

Threshold concepts sind integrativ, ermöglichen Zusammenhänge zu erkennen, die man ohne sie nicht oder nur schwer wahrnehmen kann.
