Observing the discourse. Low expectations, occasional surprises.

It's 30s all over again :(
Oh wow, this is so dramatic

They probably tweak the test first and results later.

I don't think CC test is a risk.

They don't handle it themselves, they're making a tiny test charge through Stripe, one of the big payment processors - most likely you've used them already anyway paying for something online.

For us it's even more onerous. I'm not verifying. I don't need DMs too.

I think you phrased it better than me.

I remember this study last time round, when we've been seeing all covid things: disa.org/minority-of-...

My money is on psy ops.

Kremlin was pretty open about that and anything that destabilises the "West" is beneficial to them.

Well, it's great in many many tasks if you know its strengths and limitations.

Indeed. I was told to f off, then I was treated like a criminal for the offence of not being born in the UK, and the government messaging is actually targeting my children.

This cesspool won't get my support back for the two or three vaguely positive changes to the law.

"Change" is net negative.

Gross. Next is stripping naturalised Brits of citizenship I guess?

Including those who had to relinquish their original one?
December 30, 2025 at 1:13 PM
This doesn't matter. EVERY chippy, every cheap ultra-processed ready meal maker, most pubs, many restaurants will be buying and using it.

Without strict labelling (which won't be enforced) we'll see it in the schools and hospitals.

And re-exported to the EU with false labels.

Shame on Starmer.

Last time I watched it, I thought "Manchurian Candidate" is a stretch....

Good shot, but the reason for that was Meta's insidious experiment on teens: exposing them willingly to the harmful content to see that their engagement increases.

THIS is the reason. Hurt the bottom line, prosecute these who design algorithms to hurt teens.

Make the platform safer for everyone.

Time out from that is good, but notice the primary issue is with the media (social media) - intentionally toxic and harmful.

And to make it worse, this ban has been partially introduced to make the general public sympathetic to identity checks when accessing internet. To control the narrative.
December 29, 2025 at 12:11 AM
Yes, but it's intentionally made hostile and harmful.

It's a matter of minutes on one family of phones or couple of hours on most of the others.

But tbh I'm not sure why you pitch degoogled against appled? Shouldn't that be a deappled iPhone to be relevant? :)

(But FR, its funny how much the last Android 16 looks like iOS 🫠)

I started watching Star Wars from the third episode so I guess I fit?

But if you want a good quality experience you need to pay through the nose.

Accurate :)

It is now!

A man was arrested for "Plasticine action" T-shirt.

Ms Warner was prosecuted by the govt because she held a placard mirroring wording of the plaque displayed on the wall of the Old Bailey court!

"Jurors you have an absolute right to acquit a defendant according to your conscience".
