Rewatched Edgerunners and my algorithm got the Cyberpunk bug so I refitted Cyber Polaris to be a Cyberpunk 2077 character. And nobody could stop me from making her as cool as I want! So here is her new armor and some lore. Alt text for the second picture is in BOTH images, I ran into the text limit.
"Polaris" is the last survivor of a Militech Special Project, to develop a modular, flexible response combat exoskeleton to potentially rival Adam Smasher. She was chosen because her genetic profile suggested a greater resistance to cyberpsychosis, which she does have, but the experimental Berserk + Sandevistan operating system implanted in her overwhelmed her brain nevertheless. The project ended when she first accidentally activated the Berserk state. In her rampage, she destroyed all the other "prototypes", every project engineer, dozens of security officers, and multiple floors within the Special Projects Facility before she was subdued and captured again. The project manager for Polaris kept her alive, effectively as a privately owned merc, and a pet. He will either send her out on black-ops contracts to boost his position within the ranks of MiliTech, or contract her out to trusted allies. Her cyberware includes a suite of stealth-oriented modules; She can passively jam communications in a radius around her as well as interfere with other merc's cyberware, specifically to block out her appearance on cameras and other optics. Her senses have all been enhanced as well, she can see partially into the ultraviolet and infrared spectrums for tracking targets. Her Berserk system grants her regeneration of her organic and cybernetic components, and the Sandevistan of course gives her enhanced speed and perception. The Berserk system's regenerative ability still requires calories and raw material to regenerate damage to her body, so her jaws are enhanced with hardened alloy teeth and experimental synthetic muscle, and then restraints for that enhanced jaw strength. Her exoskeleton has the namesake "Polaris" (north star) chip to help regulate her mind and keep her under control, but even so, she is constantly trapped in low-level cyberpsychosis. She frequently has hand tremors, nose bleeds, fainting spells, fits of rage, etc. She does not remember her family, her name, or even how to speak. On an average day, she is disassociated from reality and can barely even maintain a coherent thought. On a bad day, she knows exactly what she is, she can taste the memory of blood on her tongue and bone crushed between her teeth when she looks at someone. These are the days where she will need to be sedated and restrained to keep from tearing her cyberware out of her body.

In Diddy Kong Racing DS, the message when connection is lost during Download Play is "LOST ALL CHILDREN". The cartridge is internally called a "parent" and the downloaded instances its "children". While this would make sense to the developers, it has the potential to confuse or scare players.
