Deep Space Nine was not a network TV show. It was syndicated directly to local affiliates. The OP suggests network intervention where none could have existed. There was no network in charge of DS9.

My Takamine stays in tune for weeks at LEAST. If you have to tune your guitar before every session, you need new tuners which will actually keep your guitar in tune for more than one session.
