I finished the other tree man's base now as well! I'll have to paint all the bases at some point, but I think I'll wait to have everything done before I worry about that.

During my time spent getting my head back on straight I had scared myself away a little from basing my minis, which I was looking to be more ambitious with. Well. I finally got back to it, and it went smoother than expected, along with being fun!

I've had a pretty hectic month or so, so didn't get around to opening the April goodies from @nutcaseart.bsky.social 's Patreon until my birthday a few days ago, which made the day better! I also just got in the May goodies, so this day has improved too!

Here's the whole team on that display stand I shared! While there's still the basing, it's really cool to see this, the first minis I got (via Kickstarter in late 2022) to paint and get into the hobby, all done and lined up together!

Sharing this paint job that was a complete accident that I ended up liking, haha. It's just a cheap display stand from Daiso that I applied magnetic primer to, then tried to brush on a spray primer, because the can was faulty. Didn't go as hoped, but ended up looking like a rich, red wood!

I didn't think it has yet fully set in that with this hungry, li'l lady done that I have finished painting the halfling team. While I now have the basing to do, which I've very little experience with, this still feels really good!

This one probably has my best speed paint layer yet! And yeah, once I noticed she had carrots attached like the Stab Sisters' silverware, I learned into it a bit. They may just be carrots, but she had a go-getter attitude (as evidenced by all the red)!

I got another chance at that damned turkey's eyes, and also corrected a mistake where I painted some belly folds black. Oops!

Looking back this was the last one I did before I somehow unlocked any sort of proper highlighting skills. Honestly, most of the touching up was on her mouth and right eye, and given how she looks, she very appropriately fought me the whole time!

Gettingmomentum back finally! While I had to get rust off with the other two I posted this week touched up, the chef was a lot smoother going. In retrospect, I recall having trouble with her, so a lesson that is in struggling, I can always just come back later!
