Perpetually exhausted, dad, husband, tech. Doesn't write as much as he should. (he/him)
Day 4.
Holiday film
Some of the HOLIDAY FILMS I had lying around - against a backdrop of the World of Moose colouring Advent Calendar (which has a Bigfoot theme this year).

Day 3.
Donation
These decorative donations, stuck to the body of my record player, have come from assorted friends and family over the last couple of years.

I've got too used to the convenience of scan-as-you-shop and packing things sensibly on my way around the shop - it's great until something like this happens and the handset freezes.

You can do this.
My father-in-law bought this 500 piece nightmare for my (then) six-year-old a few years back, it took us a month or so...

Thank you. This is wonderful. Currently on the dining room table - I hope it avoids festive food stains...

This year, I'm taking part in the busted-halo.bsky.social Advent Photo Challenge, #BHAdvent25, buff.ly/6tYFMlq.
Yesterday's prompt was WREATH and, although it's not strictly a photo, this picture is usually my starter for ten.
(I've been unable to find an artist to credit.)

We had friends around at the weekend, and this lovely late birthday present arrived.
I'm also still very much enjoying having the espresso machine working again after far too long.

When you see this, post an image from your gallery to describe your mental health.

Just starting my copy of @levparikian.bsky.social 's "Why Do Birds Suddenly Disappear?" now that my dad's birthday copy is safely wrapped up ready for the post.
It's very good so far. I totally relate to becoming an "accidental collector" - it was wooden fish in my case...

Two people treated me with generous kindness this week in ways that were completely unexpected but very welcome.

And, I got my birthday coffee grinder up and running and fixed up the coffee machine.

And, the pink Cadillac around the corner is back!

She wants, but would *not* like this lunch of mine...
November 20, 2025 at 12:53 PM
All done. I've still got to get the grind just right but the coffee seems to be pretty good.

Thank you for your help.

Thank you, progress has been made. I'd been afraid of brute forcing the shower plate holder.
Now to give the whole thing a damn good clean...
November 16, 2025 at 3:19 AM
And this was birthday brew number one from a couple of days ago.
November 15, 2025 at 9:00 PM
Birthday brew number two! It's looking good so far.
November 15, 2025 at 9:00 PM
And here it is in action, my fancy, new grinder!

Now, to bludgeon the Gaggia into actual working order.
November 15, 2025 at 5:25 PM
And we've ground to a halt as the assorted bits and pieces need to air dry before assembly.
November 15, 2025 at 4:03 PM
Setting up my main from-the-family birthday present. What could it be?
November 15, 2025 at 4:03 PM
Ace way to spend a Saturday morning: coffee and cake with A9 and her treat* for getting an awesome report (book 2 of Laura Ellen Anderson's 'Evil Emperor Penguin').

*book we'd have been buying her anyway, but she doesn't know that...

This is where we are.
No shame, just sadness.

Binge watching One Piece with my daughter, how delighted she was to be given some dressing up rings by the lady we buy breakfast for on the way to school, getting a lovely card (pictured) from my sister, and making plans with Ros for what I'll be doing whilst she's off conferencing this weekend.
November 14, 2025 at 12:57 PM
I was lucky. She very rarely sits still on me to get a decent picture, let alone of her paws. That one popped up in a memory today - here's how she's looking at this very moment.
November 13, 2025 at 9:38 PM
Lovely. Thank you.
Have some Twinkle foot beans.
November 13, 2025 at 9:34 PM
Look at this stamp which arrived on a birthday card! And, look how ridiculous my daughter (and assorted family) made me look shortly afterwards!
