Yes totally. In retrospect I was lucky to get paid at all. There was a brief window of about 18 months where the money was pretty good before piracy ate everything.

My first gig was making karaoke backing tracks. Had to completely remake them from scratch for copyright reasons. Lining up the original in pro tools then trying to get as close as possible with a hundredth the budget was a proper production boot camp.

Yes I was kind of mangling two different processes - the actual insolvency and the broader outcomes of these things. If a buyer is found, the customers will generally do best since they're of the greatest value to the acquiring party - but they're basically absent from the liquidation process.

Yes, shareholders will only get anything if and when the creditors are made whole, which looks highly unlikely.
