Didn’t think 2026 would be won as early as February but here we are
Take me down to the Parallax city where the far moves slow and the near moves quickly

Just seen a disturbingly libertarian and off-beam take on the NI insolvency thing. I thought us musos were safe from all of that lol.

Let’s make a scene
Huge props to @timexile.com for putting this together; would be absolutely lovely to be part of one of the community nights at some point whenever I'm in London. This type of initiative is exactly what the electronic music community needs. 😍 www.youtube.com/watch?v=Glh7...
I could have got a lonely tiny box. I took a HUGE risk to build THIS.

Reaktor with @timexile.com 's Glex as a building block is still the best for this sort if real time live granular sampling.
tbt to over a decade ago doing weird real time sampling experiments while binge watching twin peaks

Within a week, my old school and the maker of the platform I built my career on have all gone bust. I will offer no economic commentary on this.

Democracies should have their equivalent of the FAA/CAA that create detailed nonpartisan reports of air crashes and rigorous recommendations that the entire industry adopts by default

A few months ago I was curious to know how much Anna's Archive was charging AI developers for access to their massive library of pirated works for training - so I emailed them saying I was interested in buying access.

Here is their reply.

Built a Euclidean geometry speaker time alignment processor for the 7.1.4 rig last week. Put in a listening position setting and yes, there’s one for lying on the sofa.

At the pearly gates

"No no no no as a CEO you're supposed to drive your COMPANY off a cliff, not its PRODUCTS"
Every time Segways come up I feel compelled to bring up that the CEO drove one off a cliff.

I used to pronounce segue like fugue ("seeg") til someone pointed out that the Segway was a literal pun on the pronunciation of segue. Haven't seen a Segway in years... did they get eaten by hover boards?

I love how some people just set a kind of vibe that when you write to them the mere thought of them pulls fun stuff out of your fingers.

In the 7.1.4 sweet spot - dashcam roadshow on - lights in cosy mode - cracking open reaktor to build an object-based immersive diffusion system. Happy new year!

The slightly unhinged positivity in things I've written recently comes in part out of this. In middle age - earlier if you're unlucky - pain and loss become so omnipresent you have to decide whether to become bitter or say "fuck it, we ball": also you really have to admit that you need people.
Been thinking this a lot the last few years. In 2024 I had three bereavements in the week I hit 50, and so many friends dealing with chronic illness, loss, pain etc etc. It's really made me wonder why, culturally, this stuff isn't explained as part of "life lessons". I also started wondering if

Elevator-related. Checked into my hotel at sonar maybe 2009? Got the lift back to the ground floor. Ninja and Yolani from Die Antwoord were there staring me in the face when it opened. Terrifying.
In the early 90s I shared a hotel elevator with Emilio Estevez and I got out on my floor not having exchanged a single word with him
Please quote this from the time you didn't interact with someone famous.

I was visiting with family in New Bedford, Massachusetts, at the same time that Mother Theresa was there visiting her Missionaries of Charity. The bishop held a Mass for her at the church where I was baptized. I didn't go.
