19 November 1941 | A Dutch Jewish boy, Benjamin Vischschoonmaker, was born in Amsterdam.
In October 1942 he was deported to #Auschwitz and murdered in a gas chamber after the selection together with his mother Sara.

19 September 1940 | Witold Pilecki, a member of the Secret Polish Army, knowingly let himself be caught by German policemen in a roundup in Warsaw to get arrested & be sent to Auschwitz to set up a resistance there. He succeeded.
