Had lunch in a terrible Japanese restaurant today. The waiter was very derisive, saying, “Would ‘Sir’ like to taste the rice wine?” I said, “Don’t get saké with me!”

@zackpolanski.bsky.social is asked about the Home Secretarys comments that yesterdays protests about Israels actions were dishonourable (she also said they were unBritish).

Zack is spot on.

Never thought a whole bunch of white Brits would move me to tears...but here we are. In the end it comes down to a very simple good vs evil...nothing else matters

Sad news. I met Brian once when I was doing PR at Penguin Children's Books for his The Utter Nutters poetry collection. He was a very nice man.

Possible causes of your problems. It’s a diagram that (sadly) still seems relevant in 2025, so reposting a year and a bit on.
Diagram titled 'Possible causes of your problems'. On the left hand side, subtitled 'Yes': Funding removed from local councils, growing gap between rich and poor, multinational companies not paying their taxes, lack of new affordable housing, government not investing sufficiently in schools and healthcare. On the right hand side, subtitled 'No': Picture of small boat, with arrow; 'People fleeing horrific situations that you and I can't imagine'.

Everyone at Rebellion is deeply saddened to learn of the death of artist Dave Taylor, who has passed away suddenly at the age of 61. Our tribute: bit.ly/4n2In0k
An image of Judge Dredd taken from a high angle. He is stood on the end of a precipe overlooking Mega-City One way below, looking up at the viewer. Beneath him, narrow floating roadways are crowded with rioting citizens while skysurfers battle in the air.

People of Worthing! Got a great idea for a comic but not sure how to draw it? Or maybe you love drawing characters but are struggling to come up with a story? Then book a place on "Making Comics for Beginners", my 10 week course starting this autumn at Heene Community Centre: tinyurl.com/ycyhf2u4

Oh that's very strange serendipity as I'm editing a book on Titanic and literally just started the section about the music. Horner is greatly missed.

Thanks, but I won't be embracing the "AI revolution" and neither will anyone else I know.

Genuinely think Noah Hawley's Legion is one of the greatest and most underrated TV shows of all time. It's a slog in places, but if you stick with it to the end the denouement is sublime.
