Heard about this.

Saddest thing is all places where these things emerge - be it Russia, Bosnia, Türkiye, North Korea, US, 1910's Germany or 1800's Sweden - actually have a lot of interesting real history. But some guys just can't accept with history, you got to acknowledge the worst with the best.

It's like somebody's first exposure to ancient aliens was the "aliens hate white people" joke, and they thought it was a fundamental tenet.

The decline of sincerity in media and embracing of cynicism as an aesthetic: They took the "lovely filth" line from Holy Grail dead seriously and made it their whole identity.

Bros forever.

Yeah, sure, we can see the mail is sprayed on and DeBracy is wearing polyester. It's fine. It's closer to the real deal than grey and brown leather bracers, buzzcuts, and Sauron knockoffs.

Still blows my mind how some bare bones budget wardrobe medieval movies like Sam Neill's made-for-TV Ivanhoe have way more authentic costumes than most big budget ones, just by virtue of going all in on bright colour and contrast.

Excellent!

That's how a lot of things feels these days. I look at a lot of powerful, successful people, and it gives me a feeling of pride and achievement that I *haven't* done any of the atrocious shit they do.

The self-proclaimed most powerful man in the universe, beaten at his own one job by a self-proclaimed rabbit.

Rabbit won by doing nothing.

This is why, as a friend told me recently, we have to strive ourselves to be as authentic as possible in our art.

Follow Italian tradition: Hang them outside a McD's.

To say the least. Hatred is a strong word, but I deeply, deeply hate aversion to sincerity in media.

Why are there so many people making attenuated versions of things they don't want to see in the first place? I know the answer, but still wonder how we arrived here.

Looked up the ending on YT just to reaffirm it is as bleak as it is - and the clip was monetized. Preceded with some corporate graphics chocolate ad telling me in vapid, faux-enthusiastic tone to buy some for my "pookie-bear".

This is the media landscape that normalizes a hopeful Threads remake.

Sailor Moon, the punishment from space!

Well, too late - confirmed you can't trust them if they considered it in the first place.

These things are weaponized and should be sabotaged whenever found for everybody's safety.

Where is his surname?

Oh no, not him again?

That's the best functional alt text I've seen in a while.

Because yeah, it's obviously a weapon. But it's surprising that it is a gun.
